  • It's already been said, but it's a beautiful song.

  • I did a mediocre cover of this song since I couldn't believe that no one else seems to have done it already.

  • amazing. i totally forgot about this song until recently. I think that I had the 7". I was blown away that this came from propagandhi. I haven't heard this it 5+ years now and it brings back the most happy-sad, melancholy memories.

  • I think I alrady mentioned this a few moons ago, IT'S JOHN and yet you still have that later pic w/ Rod to go with your clip.

and all those click-me's are lame

  • HOW DARE YOU YOUTUBE, HOW DARE YOU assume I would want to listen to rise against after propagandhi, bad comparison

  • man i listened to the song the whole morning. now im down :).

    best band in the world

  • i fucking love this song.. thanks

  • @LaurierTiernan John re-did this with The Weakerthans for a little more of a Folk look at the song, it was originally done on a single by Propagandhi though, both great acts; but I always like this Propagandhi version better, the sound is perfect for the idea of the song in my opinion.

  • @Chairsss I did a little net search and found out that was John on guitar and vocals. No other members of Propagandhi were audible on this recording, so it makes it pretty ridiculous that it was credited to them. I'm glad I checked this because I was like, "There is NO WAY that's Chris on guitar!" ; )

  • @LaurierTiernanMusic Ya it's very true, you'd never hear another Propagandhi song sounding like this haha (:

And I just remember when the 7" came out under Propagandhi ^^

Thanks for teaching me something, take it easy bro.

  • is this on an album?

  • hey, leave the dwarves alone and fuck off! just kidding. song sucks. but nice try

  • Anyone know why they said fuck off to the Dwarves? Sound like somethin spicy >=D

  • Not very spicy. This is from a split 7" with FYP that was titled "Thank Heaven for Little Boys", and the insert said something along the lines of "Destroy Sexism". It would appear to be in response to the Dwarves album "Thank Heaven for Little Girls" and the perceived misogyny of the Dwarves.

  • I've been looking for this for a bit. I just ripped the audio off of your video, but am sure that the mp3 would be better quality. If I could have it, I'd be indebted to you. I'm a large John K Samson fan. Thank you very much for putting this up here for every one. Great song. I think that I like this version better than the one on Fallow.

  • I stated how this could potentially be a means of communication to Chris Hannah, YEAH. By the way the blood of Christ is on your hands for calling me "sore" about this, sinner. Heathen surely I did mention something you derived this from. SO, WHO are YOU? Thoth? Enoch? Hermes Trismegistus? Try confusing THAT, YOURSELF.

  • All rolled up and unfurled like a flag, wake up and pack your bag. On my peak I got the rapid eye movement contact. That's the greatest song ever created. Play some empathy and say I smoked you. He hasn't smoked you yet. Listens to some Propagandhi. He looks at his guitar and says I'm about to smoke with you.

  • I really do love this song, I just wish sandihume had at least used a picture of propagandhi with John, instead of a newer pic with Todd... After all it's only John on this song (no Jordi, no Chris)

  • I am saying this string of messages starting with the first here and lessening gradually into virtual oblivion serve a purpose, to communicate an all purpose message to Chris Hannah about the sound of the band he writes songs for, and that they only kind of suck now in comparison because he is trying to prove how metal they were as a punk band initially after thrash has become the latest trend due to MySpace's representation of it compared to "breakcore", etc.

  • I didn't create this name for Propagandhi, it doesn't matter.

  • sure, you can talk to a celebrity through one of their representations online just so provided they find your memo. hnmm? Propagandhi flexed metal roots with Todd and the Beav or whoever, and their pop songs were always harder anyway than the more full hardcore instrumentation. sorry, yes including "gifts".

  • Chris get rid of the second guitarist I'm afraid, and forget about thrash. You guys always were anyways.

  • man i'd love the mp3 version of this!

  • lyrics are awsome

  • never heard this song before. this is amazing man

  • pretty much the first weakerthans song :)

  • awesome.

  • Yeah Dirtylofi - check the FYP out! It's a world away from JKS, but its still some pumpin thrash!

  • great song!i still got my 7inch split with fyp.never made it past this track.wonder if the fyp stuff is any good.

  • lol

  • Wow...I haven't heard this in nearly ten years... It's like walking through an old house you used to live in. The trees in the yard aren't nearly as huge as they were in your head and the hallway doesn't stretch on forever like it once did, but it still makes you feel warm thinking about all those memories. That sense of longing to be back.

  • What the fuck?

  • holy fuck. Well written.

  • Probably not. Chris has even gotten in on it. A video of Anchorless was posted with the name 'Propagandhi cover', and via facebook, Chris made the comment that it isn't a Propagandhi song. So take it for what its worth. Chris has apparently taken the position that if John wrote it, it isn't a Propagandhi song. Not sure how the rest of the band feels.

  • You lost me at the cheeseburger...

  • guys this is also on fallow from the weakerthans

  • From the insert that came with the 7inch this was released on:

Propagandhi are, as always: Chris, John and Jord.

Recorded on 4 tracks on the 3rd floor of 701.

Spoken word adapted (without permission, but with mucho respect) from "June 78" a poem by Karen Brodine, from her book "Illegal Assembly" (Hanging Loose Press), and read by our friend Lorna Jane Vetters.

    Destroy Sexism

    Destroy Capitalism

    Fuck off to the Dwarves

  • hahahaha the dwarves...

  • Well if you owned the 7inch that this is on, like I do, you'd see that it is credited on there as a Propaghandi song. In reality though, it is just John by himself singing and playing guitar, so it's just a him song really.

  • this is a propagandhi song its on the Propagandhi / FYP split 7 inch

  • I m going split my vains or order this next week,if it really exists, recess records?

  • Can you copy it and send it to me ?Jody

    two of my favs!

  • hmmm. guess i was wrong. was it on a 7 inch or something? because it sure wasn't on any of their LPs... ?

  • FYP/ Propaghandi split but really the real man behind it was obviously John K Samson

  • haven't heard this i years! what was this released on again?

  • This a really beautiful song. I never felt that he fit in with the propagandhi sound too much, the kinda style he had didnt translate well there and got missed. Also, never noticed before how much he sounds like neil young

  • I love this song.

I first heard it on the Fallow album, but it's great to hear a more raw young feeling version.

  • Awsome song and way better than the Weakerthans version in my opinion.

  • yea more raw, from seven inch

  • very nice song!i had this song in an old tape!

  • awesome...i used to have this 7 inch....havent heard this in years. thanks for posting.

  • thanks

  • well it is, but this isn't the weakerthans version, this is way earlier, this is john k. samson playing it on his own, but its under propagandhi, then john k sampson redid it for the weakerthans, and livened it up a bit, i prefer this version though, he did the same for anchorless

  • propagandhi rule
