  • Oh man, you've got me excited now - got some of this arriving tomorrow!

Just started watching your reviews. Great stuff man. Really fun to watch.

Hope all's good with you dude!

  • Dude, this is so good with Chicken Mole. The chocolate sauce pairs so well.

  • Stop acting homoerotic

  • Hey mate you must give Bavaria a try another fine from the old country cheers mate...

  • I LOVE YOUR REVIEWS!! Your personality is awesome " BRO!" :) Keep on hustling

  • Great Review! Gonna try out this beer tonight

  • they say 55 cos you can tase more of the chocolate ext

  • tommys rocks, but you aint kissing no chick for 12 hours afterwards unless she had one of their chili tamales!

  • yo you'e the man!!!! I nod my head at some the stuff you say! lets drink together

  • If you come to the UK we need to hang and get drruuunnnkkk!!! :D

  • OMG you chilled the stout? ARE YOU FREAKING INSANE. You americans shouldn't be allowed to buy our beer if you are chilling it. You are used to drinking cold beer because your beers are so bad that you have to have them cold so you can't taste anything. Cold numbs the tastebuds. Do the brewers a favour and drink the beer the way it should be drank. By the way, youngs stout is the money.

  • @joeboystoke To each his own.

  • Finally someone with some sense when it comes to temperature! It should be COLD! Completely in agreement with you on that.

  • I love this beer. Watching this really makes me want some. Lucky for me, there's a micro pub in my town that has this on tap.

  • man, i totally love your "amaze face" as i call it :) . i just ordered that stuff from a shop that sells english products in germany. i can't wait!

  • I want it, but can't find :(((

  • I want to try this so bad but i cant fine it at all

  • This is my beer of choice!!! Taste way better from the tap.... But either way a great beer!!!

  • Had my first earlier today and I agree with the comments and BA reviews: Definitely let this particular brew warm up. It tastes A LOT better than fridge-cold IMO. Great review.

  • Youngs is a great very dark beer. I prefer to enjoy Youngs on draft rather than in the bottle or the cans. To me, the draft version is smoother and a little more flavorful to my taste buds.

  • I keep being amazed at just how much i agree with you on every beer review I have watched so far...

  • This is a great beer. Try the can, it has the nitro widget the head will be a BEAUTIFUL foam and is much smoother.

  • im not sure if u got asked this question yet. but where did u buy this beer??

  • I had it in a can and it was very metallic. Probably sitting around for a very long time. I gotta try the bottle.

  • Good review mate. Nice to see some honest and down to earth reviews.

  • i liked it but i didnt taste a ton of chocolate in it i liked the sam adams chocolate bock better

  • I mostly got a "wooden" taste when I tried this chocolate stout and only HINTS of chocolate. Wasn't too impressed with it, but it does make a good winter brew, however.

  • I love this beer, it's one of my go to choices as a beer to have with a meal. I also totally agree on the temperature thing, the colder the better. I had Samichlaus at room temperature once, and that was pretty rough.

  • I poured a 15oz can of this(I prefer it over the bottle, much like guinness) and drank it to this review. Just a fantastic beer, and a fun as hell review to watch. Glad I could share the drink with ya!

  • Here's a trick to get the right temp for a stout: Take two bottles of stout, put one in the fridge and leave one in room temp. Once the fridge is a cold as it's going to get pour half of each into a glass and you should get a temp of about 55 degree.

Granted that means you have to drink 2-4 beers at once but if you have another guy your drinking with it works out pretty good.

  • I really enjoyed this beer. Like chocolate milk! You should try some beers at room temp though. You will notice a big difference especially from the more extreme beers. Even if you let it sit in the glass for 10-15 mins before you get into it can make a huge difference in taste. But the way I see you chuggin those beers, I guess the chances of that are pretty slim! Hahaha, keep havin fun with it man. Cheers.

  • I really enjoyed this beer. Like chocolate milk!

  • One of my all time favourite beers, shame that I live in a small town so I don't get to buy it that often. Love your videos Joe, keep up the good work!

  • All your videos remind me of 70's porn... in a good way.

  • I'm having my first serving right now. Really really nice stuff.

  • Hey Joe D, I truly recommend you get a couple of bottles of Wells' Banana Bread Beer, I had it when I was working in England, and let me tell you, I absolutely loved it. It tasted a little too much like bananas for me and not quite enough like beer, but it certainly is a treat. Check it out! GET IT!

  • Great beer. One of the first chocolate stouts I have tried. Very Good.

  • "What is it with 50 degree beer. I don't give a damn, I drink it cold." Lol!!! Nice bro. Keep it up!

  • just drank my first youngs double choc stout while watching this video. must agree with the light scent of chocolate almost unnoticeable and the great start with lots of flavor. very exciting to my tastebuds. anyways, you asked my opinion and u got it. cheers!

  • Nice! We just did a little video combining this beer with some Sam Smith's beer, you should definitely check it out!

  • Lol, this is the first semi-serious craft beer review where the reviewer straight-up belches like that while drinkin. Funny shit. Anyway, if you haven't already you should also try the canned (nitro widget) version of this beer. They're pretty different. Obviously, the canned version is a lot creamier and looks a lot nicer. Bottled version supposedly has more flavor and aroma (I haven't tried it yet, actually about to run out and grab a 4pack tho).

  • I guess they gave it an A for a reason mate

  • Good review! Picked one up yesterday, me and a friend had to stay up doing math assignments, this double chocolate stout topped the day off perfectly!

(btw, you have a nice nose haha, and no I'm not gay :)

  • i got more chocolate from the rogue chocolate stout. still good though and i'm bought to wathch the banana bread beer after this cuz i already tried it and want to know what you think. i think the smell is just like the bread and the taste is equally is good but i don't know what hops smell like so can't really pass judgement.

  • best chocolate beer ever!!!!

  • Really? I can't taste any chocolate at all... I got the can (should be the same) and its not carbonated at all. Tastes like a Guiness with water

  • rouge still has my fav chocolate stout but youngs was still pretty damn good

  • I thought their banana bread beer was pretty bad, but you might like it

  • IMO young's is an absolute garbage chocolate stout and literally a joke labeled as a double chocolate stout.

  • 1st I apologize for this message being in 2 or 3 parts but it's because of youtube's comment length limit. I am a wordy person and refuse to sound like Tonto when discussing beer. I have loved Young's since 95 but certain complications arose, when you drink it in public. Most people were curious about "black beer" and when 22y/o girls heard "chocolate" in a beer name, Jame Gumb and the Goodbye Horses dance was the only thing that could've stopped them and when they tasted it, you made them!

  • jko3139 part 2, The other problem that arose from drinking Youngs was that nobody had it on tap and because you don't get the flavor drinking out a bottle, you had to pour it in a glass. The Young's bottle was too much for a pint glass but came about 3 fingers from rim of a 22oz glass. One day I got a wild hair and asked a bartender friend about pouring a shot in the glass, because it didn'tlook like a beer was supposed to look when it was served. She grabbed a bottle and went to the well.

  • jko3139part 3, When she returned it was like I was drinking a tootsie roll. I put the glass down and she looked at me and said "Kahlua". Nobody was looking so I let her take the glass and the next thing I knew we had a mini-fad. The 22-23 y/o girls now stayed after their sips and though their conversation was slightly lacking, they made up for it. So, If you decide to endulge be careful because it's easy to forget that there is a beer and a shot in every single one of those tootsie rolls.

  • You crack me up haha Great beer and great review.

  • no know what im saying???? bro??? haha good beer though. i agree. cold!!!

  • Youngs is better from a can than a bottle. Great beer. :)

  • Tried it an loved it on recent bus trip to Detroit. Drank it just below room temp in hotel room amazing stuff. I crack up when you always check for the smoke...

  • This beer really improves if it is warmer imo. I left it out for about 30-35 minutes and it was pretty good, but about 10-15 minutes into the beer, a whole new array of flavour came out, and it went from being good to being excellent.

  • just got home from work a killed off a bottle of this. amazing stuff.

  • you got a good sense of humor, I also prefer my beer cold at 38 degrees myself.

  • Have you done westvleteren yet?

  • @420inthe604 What a wonderful beer that is. Not always available up here in Canada (Gov't controlled alcohol sales) but great tasting beer. I also like St. Bernardus Christmas Ale.

  • @7477238 Where have you found it in Canada? I live in Vancouver, help lol

  • @420inthe604 Hmmm I'm not sure about Vancouver but I live in Toronto, ON. All we have is the LCBO or The Beer Store to buy beer/alcohol from. It's sometimes available at LCBO. If it's not then usually other good Belgian beers are available there and they're equally as good as Westvleteren. Preety much all of them score 100 on the RateBeer site.

  • If you ever plan a trip to the UK you have to let us know because we'll have to buy you a few beers and make you feel very welcome

  • your logic is flawless when it comes to temp haha

  • hey

  • @worlddaylife Thanks for watching.

  • I HEar you on drinking your beers cold but this is a must you can open .. pour sip ... let sit ... drink again and see the difference

  • @TMalltheway Thank you for watching.

  • You crack me up man

  • Respond to this video...

  • I don't like warm beer! 33-35 degrees is perfect.

  • @super0pimp Sound good that is completely up to you. Serving temp is just a suggestion.

  • Do you drink your beer chilled? In the vid it looks room temp.

  • @filcox This is a stout so I usually drink them around 45-50 degrees.

  • that beer is awesome i had some yesterday

  • @eyepatchinc This is a great beer I drink it all the time. The Banana beer isn't as good but at least I can say I have had it.

  • Fucking hell, do you drink your red wine ice cold aswell? At least give the reccomended TEMP a try.

  • @toweronepower I am not a wine guy. I leave wine for the ladies.

  • Ha ha you crack me up! Did u try and smoked beers or wheat beers while u were in Germany?

  • @pooh1234567890 Yes but it was so long ago and the memories are really fuzzy you know what I mean. Lots of beer got consumed while I was in Germany.

  • HAHAHA! You're cracking yourself up over there! I made a video reviewing this beer! You should check it out! I don't think it's as entertaining as your review...

    I really love stout beer!

  • @Plexusrmx This is one of my favorites as well. Thanks for watching.

  • British beer rocks! Only the Germans rival the Brits in my opinion.

  • Thanks for watching

  • I understand what you are saying about cold beer, but this particular beer is way better a little bit warmer. Try it.

  • I love this beer it is really well made.

  • Honestly, I think he has tried it -_-

  • If you listened to what he said, I doubt it . Retard.

  • I'm talking about he has fucking heard about the beers being warmer and shit dont fucking call me a retard faggot.

  • You really are stupid Burton. If you read what I wrote above, I said "try it" referring to THIS PARTICULAR BEER. If you listened to what he said , he has not tried this particular beer a little warmer. Retard ? I call them as I see them. Write what you want, I won't indulge in anymore internet nonsense.

  • drinking one right now. 2nd one ever in life.

  • I hope you enjoyed it. My wife really loves this beer and now I can't keep them in the house.

  • hell yeah I sip and savour this drink. Hope to have a 3+ someday.

  • Nice review. Did you get around to trying the Banana Bread Beer yet? I've had it a few times Bro and it is gooood.

  • yes I sure did. I have a review posted. Thank you for watching.

  • where can i get it and what %?

  • This shit gives me a bad case of the squirts.

  • Young's is a very popular very well made beer.

  • ever try young's crest super strong 16oz 500ml 10% can b4? I have. i ever hve video(s)

  • can you get the nitro can version?

  • Yes I can and I prefer the bottle. It doesn't taste as watery. It is slightly more creamy in the can, but to me more watery also. Thanks for watching and tell a friend.

  • i never seen cans b4

  • is it a sweet beer? is the chacolate a bitter choc or sweet? i hear people saying the like the chocolate in guinness but if thats how this one is then no thanks

  • No no this beer is nothing like Guinness. It is made with a chocolate malt and definatly tastes like chocolate and has a coffee like taste as well.

  • good

  • for what beer's I have had i compr it to guinness but it's better and different and there isn't chocolate to guinness might taste a little bitter burnt chocolate like a few sips but not much. this is the best balance of chocolate and this stout reviewed here is totally kick ass. drinking 1 now few weeks after my 1st one I tryed

  • i gotta try it now, thanks ! thanks a lot - keep it up bud, your a good guy for sure

  • Go to Ireland! and definitely go to the Guinness brewery!! You'll love it

  • I hope to go there some day.

  • like the beer but one is super filling

  • Stouts can be pretty filling.

  • hey joe have you ever tried fuller's london porter? I had it the other day and it's quite possibly the best tasting beer I have ever had. The after taste is of dark chocolate. AMAZING!!!

  • I thought I had tried that one but It might have been something else.

  • Where do you find this beer?!

  • They carry it in the beer store that I go to all the time.

  • If you go to the UK, go see Newcastle. amazing place.

  • I would love to go there some day. Thanks for watching.

  • I live in colorado and the liquor store near me sells the bananna bread beer and is VERY good ! but normally Im a fan of the dark creamy stouts like stone bitter choc oatmeal stout, but was woundering if you or other viewers have any sugestions on a good thick dark creamy style beer with the roasted smell and taste to it with chocolate hints ? if you can get a hold of twisted pine espresso stout or cream style stout is great beer. the rouge choc stout is good too. thanks,, great review !

  • Good question I think I am going to bring that up on tomorrows share a beer show. Thanks.

  • OH, and scotland. lol

  • English beer best beer in the world so come over.Of course the US does equally good brews.Don't judge American beer on Budweiser.

  • Oh please don't judge american beer by bud. We have hundreds of great beers than bud. Thanks for watching.

  • is this better than Sam Adams Chocolate Bock ?

  • I wouldn't say that it is better. But it is more affordable and more available.

  • would you like me to send you some banana bread beer?

  • Oh thank you very much but someone already did and I posted it. That was very nice of you!!

  • @jjdaven oh ok, thats cool, i might be posting you some beer soon btw, some cool english beers

  • Cool I will be looking forward to it.

  • I think the temperature recommendation is given with the assumption that the beer is good, and that the flavours are worth experiencing. That being said man, keep it up - I love that you are bringing good beer to a lot of people and having a great time along the way.

  • Thank you very much! Thats all I am trying to do. Have some beers with my youtube friends and have some fun!

  • wow, thats got a good head

  • This was one fantastic beer. Even my wife drinks it and she is not much of a beer drinker.

  • i wish i could get my hands on the chocolate double stout i live in the uk and still can't find it

  • That is so weird that you can't find it over there.

  • Same as mate. I live in England but can't find this beer anywhere.

I live in Wiltshire. If anyone knows where to get it in this area then let me know! Cheers.

  • One of the best beers I've had. Easily in my top 5

  • Not only do I love this beer but I have to hide it from my wife. She has really learned to like this beer. Thanks for watching.

  • You should also go to belgium, some of the best dark ales on the planet.

  • That would be a nice trip to take.

  • If you can find it, buy and review a beer named GULDEN DRAAK, its PHENOMENAL.

  • am like you bro, Nothing worser then a cold beer & that beer looks good! Gunna pick up a bottle myself tomorrow!! One awesome review dude! 5*

  • Thank you very much my friend. And enjoy the beer!!

  • Great review man keep them up.

I picked up a bottle the other day and am kind of wondering what glass would be best for this. You said you should have used a different glass, what kind would you have used?

  • A pint glass is ok if that's what you have.

  • I just ended up using my Guinness pint glass. But I was at the dollar store the other day and actually found that same glass. I like it, it's my third favorite glass right behind my Sam Adams and Guinness glasses.

But I think the specific beer I got was old or otherwise spoiled, because it tasted like shit. I got a little chocolate, but it was almost sour. I'm definitely going to try it again from a different store.

  • The dollar store is great. I end up finding a ton of stuff there as well.

  • Dude your videos are so fun to watch. Keep it up man, thanks for the reviews!

  • Thank you for watching!

  • Man this beer was sooo good! the pour and the crashing of the bubbles was crazy.

  • It is a very good beer. Even my wife likes it and she really don't drink beer. Thanks for watching.

  • Very useful review man. Hey, I was wondering something. You've given this and the Sam Adams Chocolate Bock both "Two thumbs up". How do they compare if you recall?

  • While they are both very good. I think I would lean a little more towards the Young's. It's cheaper and easier to get.
