i have a venus fly trap but when i checked on i two weeks ago it was growing but not make any traps. it grows fin but it always dies and dose not grow any traps.
@alainjj hey , i am thinking to buy a venus flytrap but my question is : i live in romania and here in winter season , it gets cold as hell ....thats not the problem , because i can keep it inside but there are no insects for the plant to eat . To they get into a hybernate mode in winter? and then wake up at spring ? or how . Hope you can help me or someone else . Thank you.
Hello, could you please tell me if the venusflytrap requires light or water during the period of dormancy. I see that you say on your video's you can either put it in the refrigerator or in a basement. I just wan't to make sure I put the venusflytrap into dormancy under the right condition's. I am new to carnivorous plants. I have a green thumb, but this is new to me. I would appreciate a response back. Thankyou, Jernizzle456
if u put the plant in the refrigerator, the food/vegetables dont affect it right? and if the plant needs light when in dormancy, how can i give light to it if its inside the refrigerator?
Hi people i live in northern england and i need a little help here,i have sereral venus flytraps, should i put mine to dormancy in the fridge as it getting mid december and they are still pretty GREEN?.Also when refering to 30 to 40 degrees is that Celsius or F.I apoliagise for my ignorance. Thanks
two quick questions, I live in northern virginia, would I be able to keep it outside for dormancy?... and second, about what date should I start dormancy?
i am acing the same delima.you might want to start getting youre plant acustemed to being outside now slowly leaving it out for longer and longer periods of time,if you put it in the sun right away it will not be use to the heat and die.so when winter hits it wil be use to being out side and know when it is time for dormancy
I live in MA so what do i do for dormacy???? IT IS FREEZING in winter

Okay, so I live in Texas and it's now November. It's time for it to go dormant, right? How do I know when it's suppose to actually go "dormant"?

A big part of the leaves die off (become black). Cut these leaves off.
Some others might become yellowish too. Leave these leaves be (unless they become black)

You should always keep the soil moist, but you need to keep it in a cold place.

i tried doing this but it died so i sold it a couple of months before dormancy and then bought another in march.
