This was extremely tough for me to judge because I'm a huge fan of both artists. So for me it really came down to who had the most range and control in her voice. I would have to go with Terry Ellis because her style of singing was pure, raw, and soulful. And her range is crazy.

I give it to both Beyonce and Terry Ellis. Both are phenomenal performers. What people probably forget is that both ladies are southern girls who were born and raised in Texas. It looks like they grow them right in good old Texas. Two thumbs up to both Beyonce and Terry Ellis.

My final verdict will have to go to Terry over Beyonce. From the footage that was shown, Terry utilized her whistle register and her very high note. Beyonce didn't really transition in any of the clips. (Destiny's Child's "Emotion" should have been included) Both women killed all of their performances, but it has to go to Terry for her versatile, melismatic voice.
On top of that, whenever En Vogue performed live, they also sung live in reference to the chorus. Destiny's Child lip-synched, which I'll never know why. I mean, they can actually sing. En Vogue did that with all 4 members and with just 3. Destiny's Child lip-synced with all 4 and 3.

This was extremely tough for me to judge because I'm a huge fan of both artists. So for me it really came down to who had the most range and control in her voice. I would have to go with Terry Ellis because her style of singing was pure, raw, and soulful. And her range is crazy.

My final verdict will have to go to Terry over Beyonce. From the footage that was shown, Terry utilized her whistle register and her very high note. Beyonce didn't really transition in any of the clips. (Destiny's Child's "Emotion" should have been included) Both women killed all of their performances, but it has to go to Terry for her versatile, melismatic voice.
