  • Why do people look down on you for bringing an 870 to the range?

  • i hate when people call them skeets.

  • good man

  • 2 shots? why not just a get a full auto shotgun with a 32 round drum like a usas 12 or aa12 and blow it to pieces

  • @jordansmallperson Well that would be easier. But it takes more skill to hit 2 pigeons with 2 shots. And also, it's played like a game, so people keep score. So it'd be kinda stupid to be able to just spray at it, cause everyone would get like a perfect score.

  • @jordansmallperson maybe because they cost about $35,000 each...?

  • We meet again 240p @_@

  • Have only just gotten retirement and wanted to learn how to hit some clay pidgeons tossed into the air. Found a hoppes tossing machine and wanted to see somebody that can use one. This is the only reason am watching.

  • in soviet Russia clay pigeons shoot you.

  • @sweetpandaonion in soviet russia your still an idiot

  • @green98peon Also in soviet Russia, no one cares what you have to say you insignificant little cunt. I am way more educated than you will ever be, so you best fuck off because you are way out of your depth.

  • Which gun is he using? i think its a 20 Boar

  • You should always keep both eyes open

  • rly why ? i thought u should have 1 shut

  • Use a machine gun I say

  • am doing this tomoz for 1st time :) looks hard :(

  • I am still learning , but I have an excellent tutor ,an English ex-gamekeeper. I put this eye dominance question to him ,he says your not supposed to squint down the barrel rail in skeet shooting , rather the left hand with index finger straight is the pointer,it should overtake the target and whilst still swinging , the shot should be taken , if you stop swinging the gun ,then the shot will miss the target. This is a common mistake , and I for one do tend to stop the gun , which is wrong

  • WHY O WHY do have an annoying advert and the beginning of your video. I don't care if its only 20secs, its annoying.

  • hey its ok to reload the reloaded gun? or the gun will blow in to pieces

  • @astuppiddvdcase Thats a berreta onx 686 not a gum from COD as you call it its not that thing in black ops they are the most unrealistic video games ever and its not the same were true outdoors men unlike you get out of here.

  • It depends what kind of target I'm shooting but for some I shoot better with my left eye closed

  • HEY! This is my fav gun in COD!

  • The brain, eyes and hand co-ordination are so closely coupled together , many people are ambidexterous , some like me are supressed left=handers writing and doing small skill tasks in the right hand.Having left-handed tools has always been a problem .With regard to left eye dominant in shotgun shooting, I am told by shutting the left eye , in time the brain will adjust , and favor the right eye .Quite how long that takes will vary . Happy shooting boys!

  • f you are right eye dominant , both eyes should be open , remember we are predators with forward facing vision , and the brain needs both eyes to compute target distance. One eye shut , which sometimes is inevitable if the left eye is dominant ,makes it much harder on the brain to compute distance on a moving target. So ideally both eyes open , as against rifles which need the one eye to align on the front and backsights .

  • @cretesxman if you are left eye dominant and right handed should you close your left eye?

  • do not shoot with both eyes open thats dumb as hell haha im way better with closing one but ive missed 20 clays in my life out of about 170

  • @timtat16 Depends on your eye dominanse.

  • did this yesterday, i loved it, obliterated 7 out of 15 rounds!

  • You have to shoot with both eyes open, but i think he has got a right handed gun, but his left eye is dominant, so he needs to "make" his right eye dominant. Thats why he is closing it. If he continues shooting and has the right gun he will shoot with both eyes open!

  • Absolutely shoot with both eyes ps.

  • do you think this will help with shooting im going target shooting with cadets to the lee enfeild no.8 rifle hoping to get marksman

  • cars passing by in the background... i hope they dont shoot in that direction!

  • @o1o1s1 They're probably far enough away - shot from the rifle will usually drop before 350-400 yards, and at that point, it has lost most of its energy, giving a mere dusting of lead shot.

  • @TheEnglishRedneck45 Shotgun not rifle :p and yeah that skeet/bird shot doesnt go very far.

  • @SupremeAmerican My instructor would've had my balls for saying rifle. My bad.

  • heres my skeet lesson,

    you see it?

    shoot it

  • this guy is NERVUS

  • He is a good teacher!

  • only an idiot would shoot with both eyes open that makes you cross eyed and for those who havint used a side by side the sight is in the middle so you aim just like any shotgun trust me cuz thats all i use

  • @mandarenae08 so i guess al the topshots like digweed, faulds and husthwaite are idiots...................

  • anyone else notice the road in front of the range?

  • i dont get the terminology here. ive been clay pigeon shooting twice :/ any help with terminology wud be appreciated

  • I believe what the guy in the first minute is talking about is called "leading"... I didn't really think about it but I should practice that next time i go clay shooting..

  • you can improve your performance in clay shooting by using a Bridgeshoot on your gun

  • i have never shot against clay pigeons... actually i have never shot with any shotgun, but i guess its really fun :D i really want to :D

  • Bllody hell i never went through all this fandango when i learnt how to shoot. Seems a but pinckety if you ask me.

  • Take some tips from this video...

    /watch?v=NeSxjzUbW2M

  • yea u should shoot with both eyes .. u walk with both eyes .. kick a ball with both eyes .. so you should shoot the same ..

  • Cough, the teacher is kind of a bitch, cough

  • My teacher told us to shoot with both eyes open with shotguns.

  • @axcfds You should have your eyes open with any gun because your eyes will tend to get tired if you keep one eye shut.

  • @axcfds if there double barrels, probably, if thats what he asks, but, if its an over-under shotgun, it has 2 barrels, but there one on top of the other, so, you can aim more accuratly.

  • @axcfds: the matter is what is your "leading" eye. if you´re a right hander and your left eye is leading...then you have to close your left eye! simple stuff...you can´t say that you need to open both eyes in every case!

  • @axcfds Ideally yes - but it depends on eye dominance. Women, for example, are renowned for having the ability to switch from one eye to the other, making aiming for clays rather difficult, if both eyes are open. If you have single eye dominance, usually the right eye, then keeping both eyes open is not a problem, and is the ideal.

  • @axcfds Depends on ur eye dominanse

  • @axcfds Tried it, its best to shoot with 1 eye. Greatly improves performance when i shoot ducks and geese at least.

  • @axcfds For a right eye dominant, right hand shooter both eyes would normally be open. However, in the video, I believe he found out this guy was left eye dominant and right handed. In this case he would need to close his left eye so it wouldn't screw up his line of sight.

  • @axcfds im going trapshooting for extended physical education :D

  • @axcfds

That would be the optimal solution. However some people are crossdominant. eg. right hander w left dominant eye.

In cases like this, the easiest solution is to close/cover the dominant eye to make the weaker eye dominant.

Ideally if one were practising from a really young age, the shooter can be taught to fire on the same side as the right eye.

As a kid I was misled into thinking my right eye was dominant when it wasnt. So ive got comfortable with closing my left eye.

  • @axcfds i believe that the only reason they want you to have both eyes open is because when your using shotguns u typically need to be quick so they want you to have both eyes open so you are aware of people around you. At least i think thats why.

  • I want to get into this, its a load of fun. yesterday was only the 2nd time ive ever shot a shotgun in my life and i killed 21 out of 25 pigeons. my friends was pissed because its his gun and he only got 17 out of 25,im getting a shot gun now for sure, even if its just a single shot.

  • @702LTR450 get a benelli super black eagle II

  • too much bla bla, not enough bang bang

  • could be a useful vid if he didnt have such a thick accent, !!!

  • You think he has a thick accent? holy shit if you heard me i think your brain would melt.

  • i agree with him cough *oussies* cough

  • we can have guns just need a licence to own one

  • no we can have guns you need a licence to carry a gun around

  • In Britain you can't just walk into wallmart and buy a gun like you can in the states, cough *psychos* cough.

  • We are psychos because we can buy guns without our bitch ass governments approval? I don't know about you, 'mate' but I'm a man. And I'll be damned if I'm going to let another man tell me what I can and can't do. If you are fine with it, cool. But it doesn't make me a psycho, it makes me just a tad bit more free than you.

  • Yes, You're free to kill each other at will. Why is there so many metal detectors at school gates in the US? In Britain, there's less than 100 deaths per year involving Firearms, in the US there's over 30,000 per year. If you call that freedom, i don't want anything to do with it.

  • HAHAHA You Brits are funny. (not in a bad way, I like yall) But seriously though, that isn't freedom. That is dumbass gang bangers (for the most part) offing each other. Why do I care? They make it just a little safer around here by killing each other. Fine by me. Obviously innocent people get killed too, but again, it all goes back to dumbasses. After all, guns don't kill people, stupid mother fuckers with guns kill people. I can understand making it not so easy to get a gun, but outright

  • banning them, solves nothing. Criminals will always be able to get guns, all it does is take law abiding citizens means of protecting themselves, away. Not good.

  • Hehe. Most of those deaths are just gangs shooting at each other. Besides, cars are much deadlier than guns. I'm more afraid of the average American behind a wheel than behind a gun.

At least in the USA, I don't need to be 18 to buy silverware. If that's what you call safety, I don't want anything to do with it.

  • Comment removed

  • It's really not that easy in most places in America. There are alot of rules to go through before you can get a gun.

  • most walmarts don't sell guns any more you have to go to an outdoor stoor to buy them not

  • @ENGLAND041987 Excuse me sir, I have a question. Why would you call us from the states psychos? Isnt it true that mostly only the wealthy in England can afford weapons, and places to hunt?

  • No, that isnt true, i myself am a student studying it at a local college, i live with my mother who is a nurse and i only have a saturday job in a local pc shop, im buying my gun tomorrow.

  • @woohog1 no thats not true,i live in a ex council house and we o shooting all the time.

  • Not sure exactly what in ex council house is, but ive done some research and everything I have heard is that for the comman subject, it is hard to obtain a weapon. If thats not the case, please explain.

  • getting a weapon is hard your right, but its because of the idiots who would use them for robbing ect, we applied and it was 6 weeks later a policeman came around and talked to us about why we wanted them and where we were going to keep them ect and as long as your criminal record doesnt contain records of violence or whatever then the police will let you have one, your right it hard to get one but i think that thats a good thing because how dangerous they are,but your a right in some respects. :)

  • Ok gotcha, but here is my point, why do the police need to know what im going to do with a gun, why I want a gun, and where it will be stored. If I have passed a background check that should be enough. It really isnt any of thier business if I want to gun for hunting animals or self defense. Does that make sense?

  • yes it does make sense, but there are so many mindless idiots out there,im glad of all thes checks to be honest,we have enough of a gun problem as it is without handing them out,but its probably just that your culture views guns in different way to ours, :)

  • If an idiot wants a gun he will get a gun. Punishing everyone with good intentions is fruitless.

  • there are people in London I know of, where if I exchanged drugs or money, for about 70-120 pounds I could get a pistol with ammunition.

I am a responsible sporting and pigeon shooter, however these people do exist, have no mistake about that. Yous aying its hard for them to get a weapon is nothing but further from the truth.

Any way, we have knives anyway, what then pencils?

Why not ban all sharp objects? if people want to kill, they will kill.

  • i like shooting 3 or 4 at a time with an automatic, and my favorite thing to do when im shooting clays is to use my cousins 410, everytime we shoot he only has like 3 shells, but ive never missed with a 410 out of about 6 shots

  • thats because a 410 is the weekest shotgun

  • @davidcooksucks i know that

  • 1:39 NAAAZI :D HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Went clay pingeon shooting today, first time in my life, really was fun when I got the hold on it.

    9/15 hits. 8 streak.

  • i went on my first clay pigeon shoot 3 years ago, i hit 23/24 :-) never used a shotgun before in my life before then, though i have used and fired guns for many years before and still do

  • Mike Williams is a gentleman, a fine shot and coach. With respect - this chap knows more about shooting than we could ever hope to.

  • Thought you weren't meant to close your non dominant eye?=/

  • As a beginner it is helpful to close it and get used to seeing it with your dominant eye (im pretty sure, i could be wrong though)

  • i went clay pigeon shooting today, was rly fun

  • main tip i think is shooting with both eyes open and leaning forward great sport :D

  • Did this today, alot harder than everyone makes out i must admit. I love the power of the gun and the satisfaction when you hit the clay =)

  • What gauge did you use? I use 16 gauge, great power and recoil.. I just wonder why it isn't very popular

  • It's very much a calm sport over here, despite what the broader public believe. The government keep making it harder and harder for us to pursue our sport, and seeing how we're not even allowed pistols anymore (non-black powder pistols anyway), there's a lot less "Spraying" happening lol. Unless ofc you have a .22 and fancy spraying the backstop. Plus, ammo is ridiculously expensive here compared to the US, so it literally pays to be more conservative!

  • lol, the british sure are different about guns than in the united states.

you wouldn't hear an instructor saying "lovely" in the good ol' usa, lol.

  • Hey TheyThey213

If your the #1 clay shooter in australia then why are you watching clay shooting lesson? What a fake no one believes that kid

  • @LedZeppelin1220 Probabbly because he's free to watch anything..

  • id love to see how good you are, so post a video big shot. im 15 and ill post a video as well.

  • @theythey213 fuck off.

  • gd video being a shooter myself i have picked up tips

  • can this gun blow up one your hand? please guys i expecting honest answere ;)

  • its a 12gauge dubble barrel shotgun yes it will blow up your head

  • no lol i didnt mean that..i mean if u use this gun wrong or gun jam can it blow up in your hand like accident

  • hahaha lol sorry about that no i dont think that can happen becouse its a double barrel gun

  • its not a dubble barrel its a over and under gun

  • ohh sorry i didnt know that im new to clay pigeon shooting

  • it is a double barrel. It has two barrels, it does not matter that it is also an over/under. Two barrels makes for a doble barrel!!

  • Firearm malfunctions which cause serious injury are few and far between - especially with shotguns. However, accidents do happen but the likelihood of one blowing off your hand is very very very small indeed, very slight burns would be the most you could expect.

  • better than my first lesson "point the gun at the clay, and shoot."

  • He didn't tell him to lead at any point, which surprises me, but good lesson otherwise. Suppose it was a close target so not a massive deal.

  • good shooting, i go to bisley shooting ground

  • ah ok. i go to arvika skjutfält

  • same!

  • The power generated from the explosion will always seek the way of least resistance. That will be out of the barrels. In ordrer for it to blow up there must me something obstructing the barrels.

  • but that kind of accident its minimal right,,thats why you allways have to check your weapons. thanks dude very helpfull answere ;)

  • im shittin a brick got young shots shooting competition 2mor and am quite nervous any tips anyone?

  • how did it go?

  • good did reasonably well considering i hant shot clays for 2 years :D thanks for asking

  • hey my benneli stoger over and under blew up in my hands should i do something my gun is in about 8 or 9 pieces it was only a week old and the chokes were screwed in tight i dont know wat happend

  • you bought a stoger thats what happend. Stuff those pieces down the barrel of a remington, it will get rid of those fuckers for you.

  • remington sucks benelli and winchester all the way

  • berretta are good 2. but true benelli are awesome

  • well done mate :)

i went clay pigeon shooting yesterday and it was great fun

did sporting 50 twice at cottondale, north yorks

with a great coach and a great team, money is the only issue with the sport but my grandad pays for it luckily, so i get to have the priveledge

  • good vid, i hope it helps. i am going to be shooting for the first time in a couple of weeks with my army cadets and i want to be better than ever1 else lol

  • great instrcutor

  • if i had the money to do that all day i would. i did yesterday but thats just because i helped out with hunters safety and they still had 300 shells left over so i used them. out of 300 birds i hit around 295, i dusted about 100.

  • well done :) Thats fat, wish i cud do that, when i have the money ill be well away :)

  • Comment removed

  • Unless you seriously get into shooting and home reload the shells. It still is expensive, but after a while it will be cheaper than buying factory loads.

  • mirouku mk 70 thats what ive got i love shooting!

  • I love shooting, I could do it all day, but sadley I cant =D

  • are you soposed to shoot with your eyes open?

  • Yes (unless you are shooting in competition against me :-) ) having both eyes open gives you depth perception which helps in working out lead to give the target. I do know shooters who manage closing one eye but it makes things a bit more difficult.

  • fantastic video! good instructions!

  • i have that gun browning superposed

  • So funny...

    Not.

  • what happens when you close your right eye? point your finger at an object from about 1 telephone pole to the other telephone pole lenghth and tell me if you close your right eye if your finger moves. if your finger moves from the object then close your right eye when you shoot. so if your dominent eye is your right eye then your left handed and if your left eye is your dominent then use a right handed gun.

  • How can you tell if your non-dominant eye is a problem? I shoot with both open but am curious if my left eye is an issue. If it is causing a problem what are the methods for fixing?

  • point your right hand at a distant target and point with your pointer and if you shut say your left eye and your finger moves away wen u shut it then its your left eye that is dominant so shut your right eye when you shoot

  • but when i do not shut left eye, i see two images side by side... and when i close my left eye.. the finger moves a little but its pointing at the exact same spot... so i guess i have to close my left eye?

  • Really good, concise instruction.

Shame about the traffic in the background, it must be quite distracting?

  • How is the traffic a distraction?

A true sniper can put anything to the back of his mind...

I was sniping in the Falklands war and i had the unfortunate pleasure of having two crack-head hookers screwing a dog behind me...

I somehow managed to avoid this tragedy and focused on the mission ahead.

My commanding officer was extremely proud.

  • Well, I was on my third lunar landing and my Oxygen was running low, but this great big goose flew past carrying a bag of fish and chips, and I somehow seemed to lose my concentration. Needless to say, NASA were a bit peeved.

  • Are you playing funny buggers with me here?

    My story was completely genuine...

    "HONEST"

    You believe me don`t you???

  • Would I? ;-)
