yo dud just because ur xbox isnt working doesnt meen that xbox completely sucks in general wich it doesnt, so no need to switch to the ps3. Ur laser inside of ur xbox is probably just got some dust or whatev sh*t on it and thats why it can read the disc properley. Or lastley u could just go and buy a special laser cleaning disc so whenever if continue to have this problem just put that special disc into ur xbox and should hopefully fix it no problem, so ya give that why dont ya!!, :) :).

You just messed up your xbox! Your problem might be where the laser is facing. If its away from the disc its likely not to read it. If its facing the disc then your disc should be readable. Thumbs up if you think that this is your problem.

@taybug99 The reason it does this is because there is a little laser in your disc tray that reads the discs. If it is dirty or broke this will happen. If this ever happens again buy a new disc tray and replace it with the one you have now. :) Anyways Disc Trays are only like 20 or 30 bucks

If you haven't fixed it yet try getting a laser lens cleaner that is compatible with the 360 and if that doesn't work either buy a new drive or a new lens

I had the same problem with my xbox slim 250gb nun of the videos on youtube helped so i did the next best thing. WENT ON EBAY AND BOUGHT A NEW LASER AND SPINDLE(for spinning the disc) replaced those in my xbox and it started working hasnt broke or acted up since.All that cost me less than $20 and a week of waiting but back at it.
