@jasonwillis29307 if my memory serves me right, it was the friday before father's day and cosby did a skit on how fathers never get the respect when they are using the toilet.....cosby also mentioned that he talked to morrissey about father's day back stage.....
"It's awful, these kids, isn't it?" -Fritz Coleman
No, Fritz, not really. What IS awful is your suit, hairstyle and glasses. Oh yeah, and your cluelessness when you rip on artists you know zero about...but anyway, Mozz rocks!!!
I didn't realise the Bill Cosby was on the same show. They should have had him on stage doing his shuffle dance. The one he used to do to ilustrate the difference between Jazz and Hip Hop. A wasted opportunity.
The best part of this is (aside from the fact Morrissey is gorgeous and I could stare at him for hours), is the fact that his awesome voice really IS that awesome!! *melting*
Do you guys know if there's an album with a similar version of this song? The version on Kill Uncle is a lot slower and I much prefer this one... any ideas?
there is a version of this song on limewire it sounds awesome i dont know where it came from or who did it its worth downloading limewire just to hear it
Its called, Morrissey Live at Kroq, he did four songs live in their studio and there a CD with the your arsenal era musicians on cover and they are sitting on some steps...
they also have a track that consists of Morrissey fans calling KROQ leaving messages for him. best versions of all 3 songs are on that cd, first Morrissey CD i ever saw, it had the coolest cover.. ahh to be 13 again
@Leoncio444 I was reading the comments for this and your description totally made me remember I have that CD in storage. I'm so glad you grabbed it from my memory...I'm gonna go upload them to my ipod because I remember those live versions were excellent!
That's My Uncle at 17:00 seconds (White Long Sleve w/Morrissey with a K-ROQ sticker) into the clip!!! HaHaHa! Wooo! I was 3! Long Live Morrissey! Talk about "Back in the Day"...
ha! i remember when this aired, i couldn't stop laughing at how 'shocked' JC, Ed McMahon, and even Bill Cosby were at Moz's fans. For me, it was like a big middle finger to all the artists who never even heard of Alternative.
i saw him in concert right around this time here in LA. after high school but before i joined the corps. he is really something. it started to rain and it was wild. it just added to the darkness and melancholy of it all. guy wears black and sits at home alone drinking tea on his b-day. amazing
I remember watching this show when it first aired. Morrissey's fans dominated the audience. They went crazy any time Johnny mentioned his name. Bill Cosby was the main guest and he and Johnny were clueless as to what they were experiencing. Great performance.
Personally, I think he pulls off the v-neck quite well. Certainly not something MOST people could pull off, but Morrissey is not most people...and thank god/dess for that!
All that we hope that when we die, our skin and our blood and our bones don't get in the way.... the way we did when we lived. Between myself and mozer we are truly sorry.
Morrissey was great here, but everytime I see footage of the early days, I remember how lame the band members are. What egos. Who the hell do they think they are? Sheesh.
The band Morrissey has right now is the best he's had in his solo career. They are killer and stand in the back and let him be the show. Boz needs to go though.
It was the guitarist singing them - it's definitely live there's no string section; on the album track there is and the tempo is a lot slower. Plus, "There is a place....." sounds terrible - unlike the album recording.
Morrissey is the Best! Shook hands with him at The Ryman in Nashville and have my tix to see him in Orlando in July. These You-Tube vids and my DVD's are what's going to get me through these upcoming weeks! Truly Awesome!
The show's guest was Bill Cosby and the crowd was going so crazy for Morrissey that Cosby had to talk about it. He was doing stand up (!) and just improvizing with the crowd. He kept calling him "Marcy". I guess he was confused or his accent.
superior version of their is a place in hell. how did the drab version make the record

When Johnny was interviewing Bill Cosby, Bill mentioned Morrissey and the crowd would go crazy yelling. SO he kept saying Morrissey;s name.
It was funny..
