I remember watching this show when it first aired. Morrissey's fans dominated the audience. They went crazy any time Johnny mentioned his name. Bill Cosby was the main guest and he and Johnny were clueless as to what they were experiencing. Great performance.

It was the guitarist singing them - it's definitely live there's no string section; on the album track there is and the tempo is a lot slower. Plus, "There is a place....." sounds terrible - unlike the album recording.

The show's guest was Bill Cosby and the crowd was going so crazy for Morrissey that Cosby had to talk about it. He was doing stand up (!) and just improvizing with the crowd. He kept calling him "Marcy". I guess he was confused or his accent.
