brilliant arranger,I don't understand why Yamaha still didn't do a recent model with HD, sampling, expansion, etc
I have been using computersd for 9 years and had enough of them...they are nothing but frustration. I have bought a GEM Genesys XP, and it's great, but want a qy700 too
Of course that dedicated hardware sequencers are in a way better then their general purpose computer counterparts. A PC provides something to everyone, whereas a dedicated device provides everything to someone. I like my QY700 too. It still works after 10 years. It "boots up" instantenously. No need to reboot ever. Doesn't freeze. However, manufacturers need to make money, and most people chose computer software sequencers these days. Thanks (not) to the masses, we have what we have :(

I wanna use the sequencer of this Yamaha QY-700 for my Juno-106 and my TR-505. Can you sequence external synths on this machine?

Wiki says that the Yamaha Rm1x is based on Yamaha QY700 + AWM2.

I have found if you set your "Effect" to the "Band Limiter" option and pump up your "Variation" knobs it makes for a way better sound.

@dvamateur I work with a Kawai Q80ex hardware sequencer for over 15 years now. It never let me down.
