It also has an order for several T80U tanks from Russia, but there's not much info about that due to the fact that Mexico doesn't always publish the full info of their military. mex has also beefed up their surveillance and intelligence, in 2008 with the help of NASA they had 4 mexican built satellites launched to space for military purposes.

Brazil is 2nd, they have many more soldiers and a much higher percentage of their GDP going to their armed Forces 1.5% (along with Chile 3.9%) whereas Mexico doesn't even reach 1%. Mexico only invests 0.5% of GDP to the Military. Most countries invest at least 4% to 5% of their GDP on their armed forces. There is also the small fact that Mexico basically has no Air Force.

Mexico has zero air defense capabilities and a very outdated and underfunded radar system which is only located in Campeche.

The Mexican army is an amazing force even with its meger buget (which is pretty small conpaired to other Latin American countries who have even smaller armies) Mexico has a pretty good standing force but I think that it does need a little more intimidation factor, like armor and a better navy.
