Poor Sierra. This is so sad, Sierras are the greatest cars ever. And the saddest part is that I have to do pretty much the same thing to a Merkur XR4Ti. Only difference is that I'm planning to cut it up on the original welds and keep the pieces as spare panels for my other XR4Ti that I'm restoring.
That's something else then. But it's still kinda' sad. It hurts when I see them die.
I too have parts from different Sierras in my XR4Ti(3 Sierras and one XR4Ti ) and the restoration project has just begun so I'm still counting I guess. They will keep on living through my beloved XR4Ti, Fritz.
@richardmaudsley77 this was back in the days where sierra's were 10 a penny, I also had promised my parents it would be done in two days no matter what!!
hi mate, if you google "Webcam Timershot" you will find the app, it's a free one from Microsoft. I then used GIF construction kit to join them all together. I'm sure there's better programmes available now.
the sierra was a better and more useful car than the seicento. it has a trunk and four doors and is because of its bigger body and higher weight a lot safer than the small fiat.
haha... fun to drive? most of english ppl tell that FSO Polonez is handling like shit and you are trying to tell me seicento is fun to drive while its handling is actually much much worse than fiat/fso 125p or Polonez? BTW seicento's price/performance/usealibity is not "cost effective"
can't say I've ever driven an FSO and probably never will. As for price/performance, all I know is she drove it for 3 years and then we sold it for about the same as we bought it. 50mpg seems good to me and insurance group 1 is as low as it gets. It was crap to work on but, my feet were to big for the pedals and the wing mirrors were useless, not the best car by far, but not the worst either.
You do realise this vid was about a sierra being chopped up ;)
Excuse me, have you guys seen a white Ford Sierra around here? I lent it to a buddy of mine--kind of a crackhead--and I haven't seen it or him since. Anyway, you'll keep an eye out for it, won't you? I'm sure it'll turn up somewhere. A car can't just DISAPPEAR, right?
too bad, man. looks like it'll be a sweet ride for whoever gets it. liked the mowers and landies on your site!!! what kinda music y'all play? is it a punk band? anyway...take it easy & keep it heavy!!!
ha ha that vid was ace.... i love sierra's and u did a good job cuttin that one up.... im restoring mine at the moment got a vid on my account... nice work wid the time lapse
Cool! I just rebuilt the engine in my Marlin Roadster kit car a couple of weeks ago, and it's great to be on the road again. Love it. I assembled a few random shots together to make a little movie of it on youtube too. (I did the work at in my mum's garage in P'boro and she took interest...) Not nearly this intense though - I really enjoyed this video. Come on, it'd be great if you could get your car on the road - are your sure you want to sell it? Cheers!
Had a quick look at a couple of your vids, looks like you did a really good job on the Marlin engine. Glad you liked the vid, I don't want to sell the kit car, but I just don't have the space, in a few years maybe I'll save up and get a caterham. thanks
Thanks,it was a pretty knackering 2 days, unfortunatly the kit car was never finished, I'm about to put it up on ebay. I bought half of it with a mate and he moved to new zealand. With the amount of off roading I do and the lack of garage it will never be finished :(
Real shame as it's about 85% done.
If you want to have a look at some pics http://www.random-crap.co.uk, the server is really crap though.

@GM572 don't worry this one was a dog, all panels were damaged. The engine and transmission went in a caterham 7 style kitcar so it lives on!!

Well a Cosworth RS500 is about €20.000
and a cosworth is about €16.000 i have the stander one and a €15.000 car so you never know what the car might be worth :)
tomschevette 4 years ago
It was probably worth 300quid, it's only a crappy saphire with 1.6 pinto. I'd never break up a cosworth, don't think I could live with myself :)
ruuman 4 years ago
In Pounds about 500 to 1300
tomschevette 4 years ago
Well if it is a Sierra heres how much you lost out on
Superb £1850
Mint £850
needs work £350
And now it a big puzzle
tomschevette 4 years ago
well it was 150quid from a crack addict in Brighton to go in 4K's worth of kit car, so I'd say I didn't loose out on anything.
I can't belive sierra's are that much in Ireland, 500quid is the going rate down south for a good one
