  • 1:07 - that guy from family guy

  • right on right on

  • I bet theve been earning a hell lot of money for what a black musician could earn with his music. But do you recognize, how allert everyone is? Almost frightfully watching the master. He was a very strikt bandleader, as I heard. For example one had to pay fines for musical mistakes when playing a show. Or leaving the tour bus without a suit, that was 5$.

  • @sammasana that is the reason because he was the GOAT....

  • What is that at 2:00, when they are coming back from the bidge?

Are they playing a bit to fast or has that movie recording been cut?

  • @sammasana Nope. That's just James being James. He said he wanted to 'go back'. So when he said, 'Hit me!', the band took him back. Naturally.

  • @thehindsightTV You are right. That cut was in my brain only (-:

  • 2:47- 3:03 greatest thing i ever seen

  • @34moneymoney That is what everybody did when they came on The Flip Wilson show.

  • @34moneymoney ...yeah baby...that's the secret hand shake...the money maker hand shake

  • I thought it said "with Fred Weasley" in the description box...

  • 2:02 - 2:10 says alot bout the brothers.

  • The guy flippin the trumpet wat a G

  • Bobby Byrd's the man!!

  • *blows my mind*

    "just a dance!"

  • Awesome!

  • ok.... 0:44 to 0:53 may be the funkiest moment in television history.

  • @MrEdogg2010 im diggin where your comin from, my brother...

  • @MrEdogg2010 You Aint Never Lie..lol

  • @MrEdogg2010 JUST A DANCE!!!!!!!

  • @MrEdogg2010 LMAO!! hell yea! "Just a dance".

  • @MrEdogg2010 your so right, you are so RIGHT.........

  • @MrEdogg2010 And he even said: That´s a dance!

    And it was.

  • @MrEdogg2010 Oh you can bet it was. I was just a kid but I remember how James Brown blew people away back then, sorta like Jimi Hendrix. Every once and a while a performer comes along who leaves everyone with their mouths hanging open. Greatness...

  • @wsbill14224 You are right... it doesn't happen often, but when it does, it's like "WATCH OUT!" gotta have JB in your life!

  • @MrEdogg2010

    YOW!!!

  • Fuck**** deadly stuff. The man with the funk. He is got and unbeaten mark for coolness.

  • No one can touch the Godfather of Soul.

  • 0:43 - 0:53 busted out a tight ass dance move.........

  • yAAAAAAAAAAAAOW, THAT'S WHAT IM TALKIN ABOUT!!!!!!

  • I wish I could twirl stuff like that trumpet player.

  • ah sooki, sooki, James Brown created more than soul music, he created a world class culture. Everywhere you look you can see the mark he left in our society...music, dance, fashions, etc.. He was a creator....

  • Yeeeeehaaaaaaaa!!!

  • yeeeeeaaahhh

  • 23 people prefer Britney Spears.

  • imortal

  • hay 23 aweonados... sordos.

  • This goes to show you the hard work and discipline James Brown and his band put into his performances. His best live performances sound BETTER than his studio recordings. How many artists, especially modern artists, sound like complete and total ass live? The man put everything he had into his performances and by doing so made them immortal. This 40 year old performance is fresher than practically anything today.

  • Genius

  • At 00: 46-00: 54 james lost his got damn mind lol but he was the man

  • Before synthetic rhythm generators, the beat came from the soul, in this case, on the downbeat. Today's music does not come close. James Brown was a percussion instrument with laser-perfect timing. The real thing.

  • who ever dis like this video is a hating fagget and need to get there ass beat

  • havent you noticed there is a simalarity between micheal jackson and james brown. mmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • @crewlla well without james brown, michael jackson would have never become that famous

  • Does JB order the guitar to play like Wes Montgomery or is it just me?

  • @LSMFTbitch -Fred Wesley is a long time James Brown composer, band director, trombone/trumpet, and jazz performer. He is responsible for many of JB's hits. He has two brothers who are also horn players.

  • @Buckeyecat2002 So he is the guy with the glasses on the right?

  • mo malucagi tio

  • Just two words ... "tight" and "funky". What a band!

  • Vh1 still bringing good music...

  • holy fuck when did he die

  • the father of bruno mars?

  • @MrIamflylikeag6 more like his God father.

  • I want the 'get on up' guys voice!

  • @lordskyller That would be Bobby Byrd!

  • @lordskyller me too bobby had a cold voice bobby byrd

  • @lordskyller

Belongs to soul genius Bobby Byrd.

  • @lordskyller right on right on!

  • @lordskyller Bobby Byrd

  • @lordskyller

BEFORE you get the "voice" you're gonna have to get BIGGER "balls"!!!

  • @lordskyller His name is Bobby Bird.

  • The King of Funk!

  • JBたまらん! かっこよか~‼

  • PAPA DO FUNK MUSIC E SOM DE NEGRO DE VERDADE...É PRA REVERENCIAR.

  • 20 people rather listen justin beiber than James brown

  • I dont think thats Wes Montgomery, he died in 1968. Either that or the year of this video is wrong.

  • They don't make classic songs like this anymore.

  • Is saxaphone player St . Claire still living?

  • Comment removed

  • Finally found my version of sex machine!

  • I think James was high that entire performance.

  • Take 'em to the bridge!

  • 18 people have no legs.

  • i'm sorry but... I GOT YA JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE! AHA!!

  • Sam Cooke On The Right, Its Sam Cooke
