@w71homan No this hasn't replaced the 24s, Bacchus is still producing those beauties too! This is STR circuitry and hardware on workhorse wood...excellent, just as good as the upper range, just not botique woods, fancy binding or 5 piece necks...plain, simple and elegant, 21 frets and all the tone of it's peers! cheers for checking it out and for your kind words...:-)
@steweDbass Sorry, I meant has this replaced _your_ 24 in _your_ lineup? Is the string spacing the same? Thanks for doing these reviews. Awesome basses but hard to get info on them (in English at least). I have 2 of their guitars and am saving my pennies for a bass. I figured I'd made up my mind on the 24 until this came along. doh. spoilt by choice.
@w71homan Ah! I see...yes this kind of has a very similar tone to the maple 24 I had....(sold that a year back or more even though I vowed not to as it was a great instrument, also sold another Zebra-wood 24 too), but the Aska is lighter and a bit easier to play so wins hands down for me. Your damn right, we are spoiled for choice! Going to do some more reviews as I have a lot of time on my hands this week. Maybe some of the new Fujigen / STR / Moon ranges; so by all means stay tuned. Cheers!
@w71homan BTW. I forgot to mention yhe sting spacing is the same. 18 mm, which feels very comfortable for me, although I prefer 19mm spacing like on the old Yamaha TRB range. Just out of interest; What Bacchus / STR do you have?
Wow STR on beer money. Has this replaced the 24 in the lineup? How do they compare? Dig the live work.
