  • What would be nice is if you could make special skins for the civilians that make them look like zombies, or better yet a whole new mod with people that look like zombies, act like zombies, and have more HP to make them a little more challenging. Then have a Mission editor to go with the mod so everyone can make the maps for it

  • I could probably easily make a mod, just have to change the textures used on the civilians and maybe create some new objects to go along with it. All AI have HP that can be manually set, so thats not a problem.

    NILE can make maps for any mod, and all WAC coding can be hand-written, so a custom mission editor isnt necessary at all.

  • @wwcsmdevilmedic Basically set their max range to 100 and their minimum to 1, i used to do all my code by hand so its not easy to explain.

  • The original audio is Linkin park's Announcement service public. Sucks, cause this video was talor-made for that song. It wasnt even JUST the song, you could still hear gunfire and screams in the background.

  • Its a map made with a mod. Find and download the International Conflict mod and update it, then you'll be able to play this after i finish and release it.

  • Zombies don't run. It would've been more zombie like if they walked like undead, brainless, drones that they are. Running requires precise train of thought, coordination, agility, and purpose - something that zombies lack. Instead of them running to overwhelm the player, just add more and more and more of them. They can overwhelm with numbers.

  • In the future zombies may run. If the have developed. Don't be racist!

  • First, there are TWO HUNDRED of them. You are only allowed to add 255 "organic" objects to any map, and that includes players. And they dont stop respawning, so the waves dont end. Second, this game wasnt designed to do this. it's supposed to be people with guns vs. others with guns. There's only so much i can do with that. Adding in all the script it would need to make them walk, plus giving them enough health to make it challenging would have overloaded the script file. I did the best i could.

  • Huh... That's odd, I seem to recall that making AI RUN was done in a script. WALK, IIRC, was the "default" behavior. Anyway, I know you did your best, I'm sorry for my previous comment sounding harsher than I intended. It just irks me to see all these new movies with "running zombies" lol... Kinda pointless.... And who the heck came up with the idea of "running zombies" anyway? =/

  • Nope...speed control is based on combat and patrol speeds, both of which need to be set in the script. At least in the NILE editor...i dunno about MED. Anyway, without setting a speed, they all run by default. Makes it a bit more terrifying, since otherwise you have to be slower than a beached walrus in order to be caught.

  • Hmmm... I admit I'm a bit out of touch with JO mapping / scripting... but I Could have sworn that civilians (unarmed combatants) defaulted to walking, while the soldiers default was jogging. Oh well, not really important anyway.... pointless to argue over it. lol Keep up the good work! I'm starting to get back into JO... might churn out a few more maps myself. :-)

  • Duh, how would you know that zombies don't run, they aren't real, also, it's much more fun to have running zombies instead of simple easy retarded slow ones

  • You DO realize that that whole argument "they're not real" can be argued BOTH ways then? If they're not real, how do YOU know that they RUN? Besides, realistically, from a pure biological and scientific view - it would be physically impossible for them to run or move about in any way OTHER than the way zombies move - slow, sluggish, jerky, sporadic movements with a complete lack of finesse and forethought (duh.. they're dead --> undead... not really THINKING creatures are they?).

  • If your body was in the ground for so long, the decomposition process would have begun already - including cellular break down. Some of them were totally mutilated or died in horrific ways such as dismemberment, etc. If you're missing parts of your leg, muscles torn away, broken bones / bones bending in ways they shouldn't... Would you REALLY be able to run? I think not.... if even you ARE dead (or undead - whatever the case may be)

  • I'm just saying that it's much mroe fun when the zombies run.... then it's more of a challenge rather than having them walking like in resident evils.. it's so boring.. I like it fun and action-e

  • It's the first map on the rotation of the Pains Play Pen Extreme server. Since its a rather short map, look for the admins Wingnut or Major Pain and ask if they can cycle the server for you.

  • The zombies are coded to remove your health if you let them get too close...it's hat makes the map fun

  • Technically, all events are set in the wac file, so i guess it's both. My entire wac script for this map was hand-written, too

  • You need Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising, the expansion Joint Operations: Escalation, then you need to download the International Conflict mod and update it to the latest version.

  • For now, you can only play it on PxP clan servers. They helped me develop it, so i gave them exclusive hosting rights.
