A couple of real fire-eaters (Peterson obviously, but make no mistake, Basie could be one, too: I heard Peterson tell Andre Previn that once in an interview), playing with total relaxation... it's as if two old friends were having a deep, unhurried conversation, and we all get to eavesdrop.
guess there won't be many comments from those who care only about speed of execution and technique! (the pauses between the notes are where the real music is.)
Heh, it's a long story, but I met Oscar Peterson's son. It was crazy, he was practically living on the streets...I didn't believe him at first, but it's true.
I wish I could have met Oscar Peterson himself though. This is beautiful.
Since no one else will say it, I will. This is sacred music, the reason God gave us ears to enjoy, and eyes to witness.

Most relaxing form of music... smooth piano blues... I love Peterson's facial expressions.
