I think the Swampus was actually an excellent future species invented by TFIW. The way it breathes on land is actually quite easily evolved, if a humid environment can trigger it. Locomotion too.

Reproduction is a nice touch.

Too fake, the octopuses cannot live on land. If they want to conquer the land, they have to conquer fresh water lakes and rivers first. Modern day octopuses only live in salt water oceans.

@TheXanian Many, many, many saltwater animals have adapted to freshwater in the past and it is not unfathomable to think that some cephalpods could adapt as well. There are squid and octopi now that inhabit the brackish water of certain estuaries around the world. Lets not forget as well that mollusks in general have adapted to every known environment that contain a modicum of moisture.
