love this song.. man.. first time i heard it.. kinda made me sad to be honest.. just.. kinda brings back memories of past things.. girls, love.. summer.. all of it.. but absolutely great song.
God I love this version. I can't believe this song isn't gonna be on the new album. I was so eager to see what the final lyrics turned out to be, but that's what makes DMB so great. They write phenomenal songs like nothin' and don't even put them on the album. Although, every time I hear it I wanna cry cuz I miss Leroi.
This band has been short on moments that give you chills for quite some time now. The last time a song like this clicked with me was probably when Grey Street was first played live. Incredible. Those moments have been so rare over the last few years although I will give a big tip of the hat to American Baby Intro...just hot.

are you kidding me....you obviously not a fan...theyve had so many recently and in the past...its been "short on moments" in your faggot words btw....that theres been a song where ive not thought..."this band gives me chills or that dave is absolutely amazing"
i agree, i don't think your words are "faggot words" either (see below)... :) this song is special, and this version is still my favorite from the moment I heard it...
I still remember that afternoon listening to this being sound checked while across the street at Sleepy Bear...thinking thats a new song! Then hearing this version of it was rare, very soulful and rythmic, and just plain AMAZING!
this song is love and summer. there's a kind of joy here that goes beyond the words--if you've ever seen them play outside under the stars, especially with a song like this, i'm sure you know what i'm talking about.
well, considering this was the first performance i can't expect it to be spot on musically. but the energy of the band from this one still makes it my favorite.
missmk10- I have to agree with you, in the chorus in of this video, it seems like he struggles in those high notes.. but in Fenway, he always had it on the money, thats what makes the song great, but hey, every version of a dmb song is the best version because its the best of whats around
Best of what's around is right. Occasionally I find myself listening to a string of live versions of Crash Into Me or #41 in my collection because they are all different yet great. Lol, I can't hit those high notes so I have no complaints myself, played great for a first time...
I was at this show, hopefully Dave realizes this is the best version of this song he had all year... It seems that everytime the premier of a song with them comes out, it is the best, then they change and ruin the song, ie. Good Good Time. Saw the debut of that one in Chicago too.. (with the band, not Dave and Friends)
agreed...awesome performance

Yeah, I was at this concert and fell in love with this version. Definitely the best performance they've had of this song.

god damn i miss this version. they need to slow it back down like this and not try and drive it into the ground like they did last year.
