US victory would not have saved professional female soccer from the financial crisis. Win or lose it was the losing cause. Not many people cared about this game in US even if US had won. On the other hand, I am inspired by the Japanese victory, a title by a non professional team.

In a sport that you play 98% of the time continuously without break, for 2 hours, you don't get "lucky" three matches in a row against three big, tall, & top-ranked teams like Sweden, Germany, and America.
This Japanese team is a world class team.
America would have had an easier time playing against Sweden, a similar team with big, tall, & slower players. The smaller, shorter, & faster Japanese women, who had a coherent team tactic, didn't allow the US too many extra opportunities.

A hard-played game by two great teams. Japan deserved their win 100%. The US women are excellent players, but Japan was just riding on sheer determination and adrenaline, with the hopes of everyone in their country and on the international stage. After tragedy, Japan certainly needs an occasion to celebrate. Well done to both sides, but Nadeshiko definitely wanted it more, and it shows.

The US women's team are strong, fast, and relentless, but it just wan't enough in the end. I'm an American, and I love watching the Women's World Cup because the collective skill is just awesome to watch. We had our big win in '99, and have placed in EVERY Women's World Cup. In a sport that you play 98% of the time continuously without break, for 2 hours, you don't get "lucky" three matches in a row against three big, tall, & top-ranked teams like Sweden, Germany, and America.
This Japanese team is a world class team.
America would have had an easier time playing against Sweden, a similar team with big, tall, & slower players. The smaller, shorter, & faster Japanese women, who had a coherent team tactic, didn't allow the US too many extra opportunities.

( didn't (allow ) the US too many extra opportunities ) luck..even if you dont want to believe it does play a huge role in women's soccer.. and men's. all the chances USA had on goal.. they could have been up 4 to nil at half time. luck..not that crazy bullshit luck.. but the way the ball bounces to one of the teams after a 50/50 ball...kinda luck. JAPAN did play amazing women's football .some of the best i have ever seen. but..the better Team did not WIN.

One team (like the USA) beating the other team (like Japan) 20 times doesn't mean it will continue to beat it 20 more times! Use some minimal brain cells.
Sure, even a good team like the USA could miss 3 PKs; hell, Brazil's men missed 4 PKs the same day.
But the FACT is this: Japan beat Sweden, Germany, & the USA ONE AFTER ANOTHER, from quarters, to semis, to final.... And all of those three are top-ranked, excellent, world class teams.

A hard-played game by two great teams. Japan deserved their win 100%. The US women are excellent players, but Japan was just riding on sheer determination and adrenaline, with the hopes of everyone in their country and on the international stage. After tragedy, Japan certainly needs an occasion to celebrate. Well done to both sides, but Nadeshiko definitely wanted it more, and it shows.

@drybro117 Thanks. There's a reason why Nadeshiko is compared to Barcelona. They've got the precision, coherence as a team, and control when they play. Their speed and their footwork is impeccable. The US women's team are strong, fast, and relentless, but it just wan't enough in the end. I'm an American, and I love watching the Women's World Cup because the collective skill is just awesome to watch. We had our big win in '99, and have placed in EVERY Women's World Cup. Props to both teams
