It's not whether or not FasTracks is a good idea...it's HOW it's operating. There's an arrogance and some real sneaky ways to try to be sure they only have to pay the minimum and don't actually pay folks what property is worth. I've talked to Kim and Galen, other victims of this, and RTD has not been fair in their dealings with people.
Since she had to cross EXISTING railroad tracks to access her property, she should have known long ago (like 25 years ago) that either the city of Lakewood, or the company who owned the railroad tracks could shut her down. That's something she should have looked into at the time she bought the land, especially since crossing the tracks means that she was crossing somebody else's property to access her own.
