  • why on earth you buy AGAIN from Asus when you get a faulty one ? i would neve do that.

  • i dont think the drives can be configured in raid 0. at least thats what i read.

  • hey could this play skyrim at high while recording with fraps

  • nice video

  • is the optical drive easily removable? so we can buy a caddy and add a 3rd hard drive!

  • nice unboxing dude

  • mines being repaired and wont be back for 4weeks fukin taking for ever!!!!! ahhhhhhhhh i miss my baby!!!!!

  • Hey Chargerfun34 please read this!!! So I just ordered the same model for 999$ and while looking at the reviews on Amazon I saw that the computer encounters lots of problems. Do you reccomend I do anything to the computer once i get it? Lastly, I will be getting a cooling pad and i'm guessing the comp. can handle Starcraft 2 on ultra graphics?

  • you bought this for 1300? i have G74Sx for 1350+tax, either you got rob or you just couldnt wait

  • how is the battery life if you fully charge it and put the brightness at the minimum when it is unplugged?

  • dude u dont need the cooling pad...

  • @vs3894tube Oh trust me, I do. My temps were spiking as high as 80 degrees celsius. That's right near the the chips thermal ceiling temp. Also, it was being used in a environment where the ambient temperature was well over 90 degrees fahrenheit . The cooling in that laptop is good, but not that good.

  • you mean you think the one with the i7-740qm will be better ?

  • @BullBeatz96 Why would a last-gen processor be faster than a current gen Sandy Bridge..?

  • @chargerfun34

i heard and saw some comments like "Stupid sandy bridge" or "sandy bridge sucks" ,"my SB got alot of problems and i returned to the store" ,,, so thats got me worried .

  • @BullBeatz96 Oh.. Well that was with the first batch of Sandy Bridge processors that Intel made, mine had that problem. But, now with the SX and later SW series they no longer while have those bad batches of Sandy Bridge chips. It's not a problem anymore.

  • Does this laptop have 2 hdd slots or just one?

  • When exactly will the update occur(560m graphics card), if it didn't already? Please answer, planing on getting it next week

  • @KiLLERxPANDA1 It already got updated actually, it's now called the G53SX

  • Is the charger universal one?

  • We don't need to see everything that comes out of the box, just show the damn laptop!!

  • @sebs30v Hey, troll. It's an "Unboxing". In a unboxing you show what comes in the damn box. That's the whole point of an unboxing, to unbox what's in the packaging...

  • @chargerfun34 im just about to order mine but is there any way of getting this with the 560m gforce card not the gimped 1 that is in the sx?

  • how much did it cost

  • shipping brown box ,,, You gotta love it ^_^

  • I have the new G74SX-A1, and im looking to get this model as well...but they did change the design from the previous model. I have heard some problems with the keyboard and trackpad, on the G53jw.

  • when will it be updated??

  • @jaferhassan Already was. It's now called the Asus G53SX-A1

  • does the updated one out now have a longer battery life??

  • hey, does this laptop really has the power button issue? some ppl say they cant turn it on cuz the power button gets defective during time, pls answer my question thanks

  • @Shadowx209 You know, I know longer have this laptop. It had a faulty Sandy Bridge, but, during the month I did have it. There was no power button issue.

  • @chargerfun34 hahahaa a faulty sandy bridge sounds worse than the power button issue...:P:P:P:P

  • @perskyjoe Yeah, that's true. It is! Haha.

  • one more question, does the computer has an DVD-/+RW optical drive

  • does it comes with windows 7?

  • How is the build quality? I'm on the fence about this ASUS G53SX (with the gtx560m) or the m14x from Alienware. I'm afriad this one has AWESOME specs but might be cheap and plasticy feeling...

  • @Xxd3cayxX The build quality on this notebook is very good! Feels sturdy and has some good weight to it. Not flimsy at all!

  • @chargerfun34 Thanks. Is it about the size of a 15" notebook to fit in a backpack? Could you see yourself taking it to school/college and it's no monster huge like a 17"?

  • @Xxd3cayxX Hehe, no.. This thinks fucking huge! Biggest damn notebook I've ever used! It feels like a 17". It is the size of a 17" laptop x2! I can't even imagine trying to lug around a G73SX. My god, that things like a small desktop. I did find a backpack that can actually fit the thing. Nice backpack too. It's the Everki Beacon. If you want too carry it around, I suggest either getting a backpack like the Everki Beacon or finding a suitable alternative. And there's not many..

  • @chargerfun34 Ahhhh...... does it atleast look CLOSE to the size of the mainstream 15.6" inchers like from Dell and HP and such, just thicker??? If it looks that much like a 17" and I won't be able to carry it in my backup ( I DO have a laptop backpack from TARGUS), I may have to go with the m14x then.

  • @Xxd3cayxX Yes, it's about the dimensions of like a HP Envy 17 just thicker. You know, I would go for the Asus still. But, the Asus may be a little too thick for your liking..

  • All the Sandy Bridge issue has been resolved February 2011...if you happen to get a G53that was not recalled for some reason then better return it for a replacement...they all have the B3 revision now...

  • Do all versions of the G53SW have the sandy bridge problem? Did it have any other problem? I'm planning on buying the G53SW-XN1 from Newegg.

  • When you ordered the laptop does it come with a coolerpad with it?

  • @carsforevermike No. That was purchased separately.

  • @chargerfun34 Oh alright man thanks for reply :)

  • nice laptop! have internet explorer 9 installed??

ie9 is better faster and safer then google chrome and firefox!

  • @ThePatrykfilm9000 troll ! xD

  • @gianhet wtf??! give me an anwser please..

  • @ThePatrykfilm9000 lol despite the fact that you seem to be trolling, any computer can download and install a web browser --'

  • I have seen a lot of users which complain about power button issue and do not recommend this laptop. Do you know anything about it?

  • @adasttSvk i can highly recommend this laptop, i have it since about 1 month and no issues.

  • an hour and a half gaming or just basic things like web browsing and working on microsoft word?

  • @MrWang1212 i have this laptop with the i7 and everything and can be browsing about 3.5 hours. with all lights down etc. i could get even more. i never tried gaming with the batterie, but yeah, the batterie is good (if you look at the specs) for browsing and working but not for gaming.

  • Time to sell your 360 ;)

  • nvm lol :P what camera equipment did you use btw?

  • you paid 200$ too much

  • @teun3sixty It's $989 on newegg right now after $100 rebate, not too bad

  • @dsballer37 power button issue is f'ed up though :C

  • @teun3sixty Yeah the problems I keep reading about for this laptop are what keep me from buying it :/

  • @dsballer37 Yea well if you really wanna go for the all around laptop that has basically ALMOST ANYTHING you would want from a gaming laptop, then go for the msi gt683r HANDS DOWN. I have never seen or used a better laptop, EVER. Battery life i can get around 2 hours on medium gaming with some power tweaks, editing i can do for around 4 hours using 3dsmax and After effects cs5 at the same time, while rendering in between the hours too. 1500 +-50 dollars though ;C

  • @teun3sixty lol yeah I'd buy it but it's a bit out of my price range :P But that does sound like a beastly laptop :O
