You can't be for the constitution and a progressive government at the same time. FDR had many of his progressive policies rejected by the supreme court during the great depression because they were not in line with the constitution. There are moral flaws w/ liberal ideologies such as the redistribution of resources. Public social programs cannot be funded without oppressing people's right of property by taxing them, let the individual decide what he wants to consume.

The financial crisis was caused by government policies, because if the Federal Reserve had not intervened in the market by artificially setting interest rates too low, there wouldn't have been excessive speculation amongst creditors and with depositors' money.
