He'd spend half an hour or so summoning mage food, stand in one place casting frost bolt every two seconds (more often and he'd pull aggro), and... that's it. SIX HOUR RAIDS. Poor guy. At least I played a rogue, so I could die two minutes into most fights and go get a beer or watch some tv.

WoW was amazing for its time. The problem with it now is that games have come so far since then and WoW hasn't really changed in model or graphics. Hopefully Blizzard's next mmo, slated for a 2013 or 2014 release, will bring back the same feel that WoW did.

lololol they arent talking about thunderfury, they are talking about thunderstike / shadowstrike, it was an epic polearm in mc that you could right click to change between 2 different (and extremely crappy) versions, it ended up being called nexus strike by a lot of people cause all it was good for was de'ing

@Registole Yes but the mobs in MC didn't really heal unless they were specific mobs. There used to be a debuff limit that could be applied to a mob, Mortal Strike took up a debuff position that could have been used for a dot or an actually beneficial detrimental effect.

(Sigh) This Song. Good times. Seeing WoW now, especially with the latest patch, it's jarring to think about A. How far it's come, and B. How much it's changed. I can only *just* remember what Vanilla MC was like, how almost Fabled it was to young noobs like me. Seeing people running around in those complete gear sets, they were like Gods among Men. Sadly, those days are gone. Biggest downside to MMOs, once the game moves along in it's lore/content, there's no going back. What I wouldn't give...

@paxmorgana It's not a question of what's come since or what's being introduced now, rather it's the nostalgia and sense of epic scale and skill that has been lost since the Golden Era of WoW. While I'm sure the new Mists Expansion will be quite an adventure, it still lacks that gravitas of reaching The Burning Stepps for the first time, or Silithus. The Beach at World's End, etc. Those days are gone, and while WoW still remains a fun game, it's a pale shadow of what it once was.

@RogueScholarBlue i totally agree, in fact i've thought the same exact thing before. i remember the feeling of creating a new character in WoW for the first time, of walking and talking among the buildings and characters i used to command in Warcraft III. then walking into a major city and seeing the few and far between level 60s... they looked so amazing, they were so powerful. but the thrill of discovery, of a new amazing experience... it's just gone now. now WoW is just another game.
