Vauxhall isn't owned by Opel both are part of General Motors Europe.up until 1980s the 2 brands competed across Europe after this all UK cars were Vauxhall everywhere else was Opel.GM sales are higher in the UK than anywhere else in Europe which is why the Vauxhall brand is kept.hope the info helps with all the arguments.
