Here is some info. the truck is privately own by my dad and the buliding is too.The doors are just painted red to look like a firehouse. The trucks motor is not tweaked it just has a vertical exhaust and a small muffler.
@JdbTrucks haha wow i wana do that when i get older, have my own fire house that would be awesome. Just one question, does it cost ur dad alot of money
@Wonkawillie77 It wasn't my dad how had the problem! If you ever driven a tiller which you probably never have then you don't know how it works. The guy in the back was having the problem because he hadn't ever steered the ass end.
@JdbTrucks I tillered Ladder 3 and Ladder 4 (among other duties since I retired as a Captain) for the City of Albany, NY Fire Department so I do know what it's like to drive and tiller a TDA. So, watching your father, who I'm sure is a great guy, he is having problems backing in and the tillerman is as well.
This truck here came from the Pittsburgh, Pa Fire Dept. and was originally the twin to the other American LaFrance Pioneer tiller. We have a few tillers in the collection. We have a total of 16 trucks-all are ALF's with the exception of two Seagraves. Stay safe and God Bless.
This is located in Camden, NJ. If I had a more experienced or regular tillerman, we would of had the truck put away a lot quicker. But, we just take our time and sooner or later while get it back in nice and safe. The truck does have an 8V71 DD.
Beautiful truck, my department has a 1972 American Lafrance engine and its pumped for 17 straight hours at a fire without being shut down. Its one hell of a truck.
WOW ! tight squeeze. How was the turn coming out? I bet you both drivers had to be on their game, huh? Great looking rigs too. Love the "old school" fire trucks. Don't make 'em like that anymore.
Truck sounds great
