wow! Whats the exact idea behind this? I would like to implement a similar thing for my smoke and my explosions. I think your algorithm fits perfectly because it looks so dynamic and real
Just wow, how could that possibly be realtime? Is it mesh-bases or voxel or something else? Can't imagine it being based on triangles, just generating the mesh would take a lot of time.
@sopues well technically its not a mesh like he said its real time procedural clouds prolly using an algorithim that is prolly extremley hard to explain but im sure he could tell us how he came up with it or who or where he got it...
umm.... wow.... im stunned, and wanting real time explosions now... it would be great if you could get a blend file circulating ;-) btw 5/5 man this is incredible work! keep it up!
holy shit if that is real time. wow. i'm guessing a noise over a alpha ipo. dude can you tell me how it was done i've been so trying to set something like this up. for explosions. watch my vid of the earth background. i want to blow it in half, and i could use this effect for the atmosphere that is left over bleeding iinto space.

perfect clouds!!!
real BGE? no prerendered?
Tutorial plase or what method do you use? billboards?

@mariocbase
thanks,
they are procedurally generated without any texture input.
It would be quite hard to explain how it is done, but basically it uses a Perlin noise computing algorithm. The cloud layer itself is just a dome.

I'm .. I'm dumbfounded. I'd be happy with this quality in renders o_o;
Suffice to say, nice work.

Is this some form of paralax normal mapping?

would it be possible to generate real time explosions this way?

yeah, that`s what ill try to do next

awesome
could post blend or exe to try it out? Are they volumatric? How fast is your PC and what is FPS?

heh, im having trouble getting the code together.
there are few stuff necessary that isn`t available in Blender yet.

looks fantastic.
How many FPS do you get, and running in what?
bobbincygna 2 years ago
it runs slower than it should, maybe because the the noise is without real bounds and it never tiles..
i shoud find a way to clamp the texture size somehow.
It is running in Blender, on Win7 RC.

Wow! Extrodinary! Have not seen anything like this before. You could use this for realistic explosions and stuff. 5/5
