Def Jam made a big mistake in not promoting this album. It reali cudlve gone far. They should've paid less attention in annoyinly re-realesing Rihannas stuff and more onto this (no hate on Rihanna). But I do prefer her stuff with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and I wouldv'e liked it if she wrote some of the songs but sayin that its still a gd album.

I hope she does a CD that is completely dance music (but not opure house) without the interludes. If a CD is on the CD turnstyle (?), sometimes all I get is a 5-15 second clip off of a Janet CD. If she wants to do them, have them in the beginning of a song, on the same selection- then have a 1-2 second separation between the interlude & the song. Janet is awesome!

i mean on every album on which she had them they were all so inventive & fresh...i personally like the ones on "all for you" but the ones on "discipline" are cool too ;)

i like the whole concept of interludes, on any album...i believe it gives the album an extra vibe to it and it's like a bond that often ties 2 songs or just a smaller song or dialogue just to reflect on day to day human issues or on the concept of the album...

as 4 me, the album with the greatest interludes is "Back to basics" by Christina Aguilera...

Wow, I couldn't disagree with you more. The interludes are SO annoying, especially on Janet's albums. I think if any artist chooses to talk inbetween the songs all through his/her album, they should sell that as an alternate version.

Janet obviously needs to do something different, with 3 consecutive albums slumping below sales expectations. I think she needs to do another album tackling meaningful subjects such as equality and education the way she did on "Rhythm Nation", without the super-annoying interludes and tone-down the sex in both her song choices and in her personal appearance, and see what happens. An album like "Rhythm Nation" could go far to repair her battered image post Super Bowl.

I LUV this CD...I have been a JANET fan since her first album 'Janet Jackson"in the early eighties....My favorite track on this album is "Curtains". 'DISCIPLINE" reminds me of "Rope Burn".

I am LOVING the CD!!! This album can't singularly be compared to anything she has done. I would say that it has the raw energy of CONTROL, the sleekness of VELVET ROPE, and the feel-good fun vibe of ALL FOR YOU. It's a fine contribution to music, the airwaves, and our eardrums. Oh, and you can't forget the booty...the CD will have you shakin' that azzout of your seat.

i think it's great that janet doesn't try to be this great singer or whatever, because obviously she's not. so it's better that she focuses more to make these songs as good as they can be without that Mariah/Whitney voice. I'm not dissing her or anything like that, but that's just the way it is. There is a reason why she is one of the most succesful female artists of all time, and that reason is her unique style. It takes a lot more than a great voice to make it in this industry.

This album sounds really good, much better than 20YO and Damita Jo, although I don't think Damita Jo is a bad album. Never letchu go and greatest X are exactly the same, they sound like 90's ballads. My favorites are So much betta and Whats Ur name, I think that those are the most substancious songs in the album, and I like Discipline too, I've been a fan of baby making songs by Janet, even though Warmth is too obscene. Career advice for Miss Jackson: She needs to call up Rene Elizondo and offer him $5 million to help her co-write a new album. Then Janet and Rene should lock themselves in the studio with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and not come out until they have a decent album. These songs are boring and Janet's voice has never sounded weaker. I predicted Damita Jo and 20 Y.O. would be flops and I was right. Here comes flop #3. Janet, I'm so disappointed!
