  • leon redbone can haz my babeez.

  • What an enigma this guy is, and a hugely talented one at that! Please come to London Leon, your public awaits. A true American one off!

  • O.o

  • Leon Redbone is an American Master.

  • I love the Clarinet when played like this.

  • buenísimo este tema xD

  • very hot....:-)

  • The Carson show was where I first saw Leon. I couldnt believe my ears. I got up off the couch and stood in front of the tv during his entire performance. I love that vintage RCA microphone too.

  • @terrisonb I first saw him on SNL back when it was good. He should have more exposure

  • MASTER !

  • This is my favorite Leon Redbone recording. The bigger the audience, the more focused he is.

  • saw and met leon tonite and bobby gordon was in the audience, fantastic show, love ya leon.

  • gonna see him in 4 days !

  • people who have never heard Leon are really missing out on class!

  • Sweet Jesus, I love Leon.

  • @bigdjindustriez

    Me too!!!

  • I think Sophie Tuckers version is just kind of loud and boring, great voice but I prefer Leon!

  • Redbone is superb with "Melancholy Baby," but is not as well suited to "Some of These Days." This song belonged to Sophie Tucker, whose rendition was definitive.

  • @dhlowenstein

I disagree. The vocal style popular in Tucker's day was awful. Melo-dramatic bunk. All they did was speak in affected pitches, whine, and bellow. I know that's merely opinion, and I have to take it in context and respect it as a stepping-stone in the development of Jazz music, but I feel intepretations like Redbones can pack in just as much emotion, and in this case convey it more accurately.

  • Earth.

  • question: is this the song that jean paul-sartre made reference in his book la nausée??

  • leon redbone is incomparable

  • Why can't we have a show and host like Johnny Carson on TV today who introduce guest with REAL talent like this. I rememer Johnny very well and I can honestly say todays shows are stupid, silly and immature.

  • same reason leon wasn't a MASSIVE star, like he deserved to be.

    sad but true:

    most people are ignorant morons

  • Leon was a pretty big star at one time :) He was fantastic.

  • @TroyBilt007 I hope to change that...

  • There is only one Leon Redbone, his music always gives me

a smile, it can brighten a very dull day! Thanks - Cortlandt

  • What a treasure.
