The "Eye of the Needle" was a toll-gate into Jerusalem that all burden-bearing beasts had to pass through so that accurate taxes could be levied on the load. It required stripping the camel of everything, so it went through "bare" with just the reins on. Jesus' comment pointed out that we can't take anything from life with us except His guidance; and camels have the sense to appreciate their load being lightened, while we don't, and resist His lead, because we love money more than LIFE.
"And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. Matthew 19:24"
@Icooka4u King Solomon was rich. i dont think money is evil but some peoples percieved notions of what it brings. Like most things in life it has its good and bad.
Like the poet Rumi commented " a hungry man and a full man look at a piece of bread differently"
fuck me this is good poetry.

Wow.. What an amazing poem. Wish the rest were here as well. I'd really like to hear the rest of what he had to say.

@imran1985iqbal Solzhenitsyn also recapitulated this social anxiety: "How can a man who is warm understand a man who is cold?" (paraphrase).
