  • I was only a toddler back in the early 1980's, point being. I can't remember what the rest of you can. But from watching a Morecambe & Wise documentary I know Eric Morecambe died in 1984. He's making god laugh right now.

  • I love the ads so corny

  • This isn't about superman!! It's about Eric & Ernie!!!! I love Them both!!!

  • its such a pitty that ITV never repeated their morecambe and wise shows like the bbc do, they pretty much got their fame on tv through ITV and ended back their and their later xmas specials werent as good as the BBC ones but they still got viewing figures of 20 million ish every year

  • Eric and Ernie.... I thank you for all the laughs you caused in our house at Christmas. The Morecambe and Wise show really was the TV Highlight of a generation... So many Happy Times. I will have a drink for you two this Christmas..CHEERS

  • Thank you for this video! It's actually what my media essay is based on.

  • THE SKETCH STARTS AT 5:30

  • does anyone know where i can find the morecombe and wise xmas sketch where they are in a sleigh and eric keeps getting pullled away by the reins? lmao

  • @ceejay75 i think you can find it here in youtube... try 'morecambe and wise zavaroni' in the search query... ZombiZone uploaded it on his channel, i believe...

  • is that moustache eric has fake? coz from a later scene from the same special he doesbt have it, i love eric and ernies 80s shows

  • Ah the classic Pat Allen on the Ford ad. What a voice. And ten years later he'd be introducing Vic and Bob, heavily inspired by Eric and Ern.

  • Do you have the ads from Superman?

  • no unfortunately I only have this clip :(

  • i loved da ford sierras, 'its made to fit around the driver' lmao. was a ford in them days like 2days BMWs or astin martins or suming? lmao. was morecambe and wise really retiring? nd was this really the last time they did a show 2gether?

    RIP

  • Bloody hell! the fact that Superman premiered on british tv 5 years after it was released really dates this! Now movies are on TV withing 6 months/ a year.

  • yeah..I dunno I think TV movies was quite a new thing then..VHS was a new invention, buying films to watch at home, let alone record TV was a really new technological liberty. The internet would have seemed like magic..! What'll we watch in 2023..?

  • Was it really necessary to remind people that they were watching a color TV broadcast...in 1982?

  • haha, though I do remember people still using black and white tellies until around 1990, especially when used as a second TV. (despite colour tv starting in the 60s!)

  • The States went color in 66 and the networks—all three of them—had reminders that the show was in color for a few years; that became moot by the early 70s (my family still had a hand-me-down B&W until 79). I was around when they reminded us that a show was In Stereo Where Available in the mid-80s.

  • haha hell yeah, my mate used one of those hand-me-down B&W sets in his room for his nintendo (to play in black and white?!) and re: to in stereo where available, who could forget the upgrade ITV gave us..James Bond was brought to us in 'nicam digital stereo'!!

  • sadly Morecambe and Wise were in deep decline by christmas 82 as this clip showed

  • Those new fangled Ford Sierra's look cool, I want one!

  • Great! Have you got the ad clips from the Superman screening?
