Why is Crock Obama pushing so hard for people to learn Spanish? What about French, Italian, Cantonese, Russian, etc? We have many other non english speakers in our country other than Spanish, and most of them have accepted the fact that they need to learn English.

The logical choice is of course English (U.S version)
The reason why I say no official language but a common language is that we have to try to be a free country. An actual melting pot, not a fake one under Christianity or under English.

You must learn English when in an english speaking country. I live in Italy and am seeking to learn Italian now. There is no reason for me to have to learn Spanish. It is more efficent that the US had one language since everybody can communicate in English and that is why we dont have every language in the media which is more efficeint and practical.

Learning Spanish has no negative side effects whatsoever. You're only educating yourself and/or your children. I don't understand why his suggestion is so offensive? If you believe Obama is trying to create the "United States of Mexico," explain to me why his audits of Employers who hire illegal immigrants have reached more companies than the "worksite roundups" of the administration of Bush? True it was a harsh statement. But, nevertheless, a true one. We NEED to educate ourselves +our children

Other countries' people learn English so they can do business with America. THEY are learning English for our sake. Yet the people who come here cannot even take the time to learn the predominate language of the land they want to live in.

This video is a perfect example why people question Obamas character, english has always been Americas main langauge, why would he make such a statement about learning spanish. When Obama first took office he took the OATH to Preserve, Protect, and Defend this country !!!! ...yes the traditional "Oath of Office". Why the hell do Americans need to learn Spanish?!! English is the dominant language in America. How dare illegal immigrants demand rights and for us to learn their language?! Their in our country. They need to go and stop wasting money by being in this country illegally. Money should not be spent on aliens. Money should be used towards other things for Americans such as jobs, education, the economy, etc.

I have nothing against anyone (race wise) not at all, however, unless Obama continues to destroy the USA and declares it as the United States of Mexico, I refuse to learn spanish nor do I feel I should have to. Although many might disagree with me and that is fine, but this is USA so if they want to live here, learn English.

@Rogentx First of all, spanish people of Spain are white, and European, i'm white even if i speak spanish, because i'm spanish (from spain,europe). Language has nothing to do with race.
Everyone in Europe knows at least one language besides his mother language, why shouldn't americans do that? What americans shouldn't do, is learning spanish because inmigrants do
