  • I take it for my tooth infection and it makes my urine stink lol

  • What's the difference between penicillin and penicillen G (natural penicillin)? Why use broad spectrum antibiotics over full spectrum?

  • Excellent video. Keep making more. God Bless.

  • You posted this so long ago! Doesn't matter. Thank you for the post. It was really helpful. Please feel free to post more. I'm a fan! -Cocoa!

  • omg..u r so handsome ...haha...i hardly concentrate on wat u r talking about ...hehe

btw,,,a great educational video...helpful in my pharmacy studies currently ...thanxxxxx

  • how interesting. i must admit i did not fully understand everything but i got the general jist! currently taking penicillin to combat a throat infection and it started working almost immediately. the white patches on my tonsils disappeared after 24 hours. Will smoking marijuana affect the penicillin? should i refrain from smoking until ive finished my course of penicillin? thanks

  • Thanks a lot and you are really great.

  • Thanks a lot

  • OMG you looked freaky. and can i use this video for my micro organisms project at school?? :)

  • thankyou so much!

  • THANK YOU GOD BLESS!!!!

  • great video, thanks a lot!

  • tnx dude!! ^^

  • Great video, thanks for posting

  • great video, thank you

  • Good video. Never knew exactly how it worked. To me one of the most interesting part was that the inside of a bacteria cell is at ... "10 to 12 atmospheres" (?) Wow. That's a lot of pressure for a cell wall to contain.

  • thumbs up!

  • thank u soooo much!!!

ur version if much easier to understand than the text-book haha

  • Thank you. I'm learning about Gram negative and Gram positive in Micro 1 now.

  • so the main function of penicillin is inhibiting an enzyme that allows bacteria to create cell walls?

  • Thank youuuu soo much I cannot tell you how much you have helped me!!!!! I might actually pass my exam woot.. LOLL anyway thank you good luck with your studies also!

  • thank you so much you made this very clear. Awesome. You single handedly got me enough marks to go to university. W.

  • Thank you

  • Ancef is an antibiotic that works simillar to Pencillin, If you are allergic to penicillin DONT take Ancef or Primaxin

  • people like you mr uploader should be given huge sacks of money and cars, thanks for the upload :D

  • You didn't learn this until your ID class? But now that you know how penicillins work, now look at penicillinases and novel transpeptidases. Know your antibiotics! Penicillins is just one class.

Aminoglycosides, Ansamycins, Carbacephems, Carbapenems, Cephalosporins, Glycopeptides, Lincosamides, Macrolides, Monobactams, Oxazidilones, Quinolones, and Tetracyclines. The basic classes.

  • im illergic to penicillin

  • same *allergic

  • @pacman2468 I am allergic too... Is that a bad thing?

  • @louiswilkinson10 Did I say it was a bad thing?

  • Excellent!!! I know how penicllin works know, my microbiology teacher sucks compared to you! Nice explanation.

  • great explanation. really helpful.

  • i was so good the first 2 minutes.

  • Wow pretty good man this was better than my microbiology teacher.

  • well done! i just learned all about PCN today in my pharmacy class. this was a nice review :)

  • I recently had a MRI done. Small mucosal retention cysts were found in my right & left

maxillary sinus. Can Penicillin be used to

    treat this?

  • "Bacterial foe...." so cute. 0:17-021. Question: this rigid coating --- is breaking this coating the goal of my Dr. squeezin my infection site. Lancing...?

  • Great explanation. Allowed me to visualize the process of how penicillen works. God bless you again and again. Namaste.

  • awesome explanation.

  • eww mold =-=

  • thank you so much. im working on a little lab in biology on antibiotics and bacteria (grade 11)

you helped me so much T_T thank you so much

  • I have a question! I am taking Amoxicilin A 500mg but i am almost out, can i take Ampicilin 500mg or will thier be a BAD reaction.Thanks.

  • cool, the wee man that discovered this stuff used to stay just down the road from me many many years ago 1920's i think

  • Very useful for medical students!

  • Yup! I like your style on this video too! LOL. Please do more. You're educating the average laymen here and encouraging us to learn essential and basic medical subjects :). I hope you Keep it coming :)

  • Thank you so much! I am by no means intelligent but I found that clearly explained and easy to follow. Thanks again :D

  • Excellent explinations- very clear! You should do more! But Tisk Tisk, you know better than to call a bacterium a "bug".

On a side note- yes the bacteria mutate, but we have synthesized many different penicillins (amoxicillin - ect.) to combat these mutations. Unfortunately we are now running short of new synthesized drugs to keep up with the mutating antibiotic resistant bacteria. If you think about it...its pretty scary.

  • Of course it is scary to think about AB resistant bacteria. Nonetheless, medicine is continuously making strides in learning about the mutuation and creating the drug(s) to kill mutant bacteria. Thank you Lord (higher power of the universe we live in.)

  • This is true- but not always.... thats whats going on with Mrsa right now. Vancomycin is the cure but there is a strand of MRSA that branched off (VRSA)that they have no cure for. That is what is terrifying them. BTW some of the most intelligent minds of our time have believed in God. The more you learn (especially in science) that more it proves Gods omnipotence. Its always glad to see credit given where its due! ;)

  • YOU ARE SOME AWESOME!!!

  • HELL YEAH!

  • YEAH!

  • That was amazingly explained, I also liked the visuals... Thank you for such an informative video! It's the night before my Bacteriology exam and man did this help understanding things !!

  • whats the moa of ancef???

  • Ancef is a first generation cephalosporin drug, and it is thought to act in the same way as penicillin, through beta lactam disruption of the cell wall.

  • @teamriras Good vid,i have just had a really bad tooth abcess, proper bad, what would have happened before peniciiln.Thanks.
