Tell you what; that was one heck of a trade getting a set of Full Plate Armor for just a bottle. I never knew this trick either. Another thing is I never really stopped to grind EXP, so most of the time when I'd get this far, I would just buy the armor since I had little else to spend my money on (I used the trick by Forepaw to farm Red Potions)
Wow, I rarely make comments on YouTube due to internet being a bit mental but I have to say thank you for posting this - because for years I thought I was nuts as I happened upon this trick when I played it the very first time back in 1991 as a mere ten year old girl. I never managed to do it again and no one believed me. It does exist! Woo! I love Faxanadu and the music still haunts me frequently in day to day life.
Note that if you get this free armor and go see the nurse in the meat shop in Daybreak, she will say "Look at you! When's the last time you took a bath!" This only happens if you get the ring of Dwarf from the Guru in Conflate first. Apparently this used armor is filthy!
