Easily my favorite song of the mid-90s alt-rock genre. I loved STP back then, and this was the best they did. Never fails to get me pumped, and I have to listen 3 or 4 times in a row, even 17 years (dear God) later.
Man, Deans intro is amazing!!! hes an underated guitarist. Whats the name of this concert? i forgot the name and is there any more footge of this concert?
oh fuck i live in weymouth mass, just 20 miles or so from worcester. i can gaurentee this was done for waaf's real rock tv, and i want this damn show! i love stp, especially from this era. im gonna call them up right now. 1 617 931 1073
It's Worcester, Mass. in 1994. They did a huge production video taping it, but never released the entire show, just some performances for "Thank You". Westwood One did a radio show of this performance though, came out in '95.
yah, agreed, but it's fairly well known that zep was one of their major influences, you can hear this influence come through in quite strong in several of their songs
what the hell? i think i just had an organism... why isn't there music like this anymore? i think this was their best year for playing live! (the purple era) dean is just awesome
i love the intro...i always love playing this on guitar, i wish dean did more whimsical interludes because from what ive heard he does a great job of it
I LOVE this song but I've NEVER seen it live at 5 shows I've been to.I got 2 more this time around-tonight in Jersey and Aug. in Bethlehem-maybe I'll get lucky.Piece of pie is another rarely seen live.
wow i seen both live and ive only seen them live once (wasnt born in the grunge era so i didnt get a chance till their amazing reinunion) it was amzing i think i was the only one in the crowd who knew the song wasnt over at that quite part before dean brakes out that solo
When they played Hershey in '97? I think, they played the slow intro piece of Army Ants. I screamed "YEEEEEEES!", me being the only fan screaming at the time, and then they broke into "Down". I like Down, but I didn't like that they toyed with my emotions! Still think they're great.
I know exactly what you mean especially the lyrics, ignore C0RPSEGR1NDER who probably went to the recent Sex Pistols shows sponsored by Sony Playstation and Guitar Hero 3 & danced to Anarchy In The UK

You are saying RATM copied STP, right? "Born of a broken man" is from 1999 and "Army ants" is from 1994!
