If you want more water glue a piece of cork to the top of the flapper and everytime you flush the cork will hold the flapper open longer and use all the water in the tank for every flush...
You are dangerous and you should learn before you spread your Chuck-In-A-Truck info...#1 on the fill valve(Fluidmaster 400A) there is a C.L. marking which stands for Critical Level and it needs to be 1" higher than the water level. This is to protect the water supply from Cross Contamination. #2 the stand pipe can prevent the house from being flooded if the fill valve should malfunction. Lots of people get hurt from a well intentioned handyman!
Pour a quart of vinegar down the tube in the tank. It will clean the buildup in all the bowl holes giving a more powerful flush. All that brown buildup in the tank is in the bowl also, stopping it up for a weaker flush. Let the vinegar set for 8 hours before flushing. Do two 8 hour apps. That bowl has allot of buildup by the looks of the tank. Don't use those tablets that turn toilet water blue. They will stop up your toilet and you'll flush 2 times every time you shit. Toilets are designed to flush with a certain amount of water. The line in the tank is there to show where the proper level for the toilet to flush correctly. Can't understand why you would want the water level higher above the line. This will COST you a great amount of Cash over the years on your water bill.My advice is set the water level where it should be.The pipe is called a stand pipe and that is where the water goes from the tube to refill the seal in the bowl.No need for turbo charging. Al
@TheOldkid888 : Thanks for your comments and clarifications, Al. "Stand pipe" - got it.
Without going into great detail on the reasons, sometimes some of us need a flush that's a little more powerful than what some toilets typically can provide. Hence, the impedus to "turbo charge" a flush on demand. Yes, this may cost extra money over time, but many of us feel it's worth it to get the toilet performance we seek, and for it to fully accomplish the task it was meant for.
tape around the mouth of draining pipe also worked! i just used black industrial tape and it holds the water fine (though im not confident whether this is a longer term solution). anyway thanks for the upload!
I watched your video and found an easier solution while trying out your tips. simply tighten the string beads which is connected to your flush handle! it will hold open the flapper longer, thus flush more water!
Your videos were quite interesting! I may be tempted to try to add some oomph to my American Standard Cadet 3 toilet. You explained things very well! Thanks be to God I didn't know this in the early 1970's, for I was a BAD kid, flushing things down the pot that shouldn't go down (i.e. writing paper, toys, match box cars, bar of soap, wash rag, etc.)! To me, a toilet was a "magical eliminator; You just drop something in, give it a flush, & hope you never see it again!
disconnect the water line and set it outside the "emergency exhaust pipe". Then put duct tape over the pipe and seal it with silicone. let it dry for a few hours, and then hold down the lever again and the water will continue to fill the tank. be careful, the water will now be able to over flow, use at your own risk. I am not responsible for any damage or property loss.
dude in the uk we have reguations on how much water you can use for a flush its 4l you can buy syphones that will increase the power of your flush and still only use the same amount of water !! also to save water you can put a brick in the cistern to raise the water level with sme effect !! conserve water bro its an amazing resource !!! happy flushing !!
That's interesting to hear about the UK rules -- thanks for sharing. As for the brick idea, I think that'll lower the flush power because less water will flow into the bowl. It's not about the water line itself, but how much water 1st accumulates in the tank. But, the brick idea should save some water. While I generally believe in saving water, in my opinion a toilet needs to successfully perform its intended purpose -- that comes first in my mind, then after that saving water is a good idea.
