i did the same thing to my ibook the conector is a piece of shit but i went to the apple store and one of the 'geniuses' told me to get an old imac g3 keyboard cuz it has a power switch on it so thats a short term fix that doesnt involve soldering the thing back on

It's pretty challenging. There are couple places where you can screw things up. If you are careful and *read* the guides it's no big deal.

Yes, I think so. There are lot's of screws which can get mixed if not careful and that plastic spudger is necessary. Check ifixit dot com.

Yeah. The real model is "Tool 10,000 days" which reads on the top cover (the red thing).
