my dad was in this war. he was shot and his best friend came to help him and saved his life and when he looked up to see anyone he was shot and killed instantly in front of him. R.I.P ski
@TheLastSliceOfPie ....This song has nothing to do with Vietnam. Although it is an epic war theme for wars of any era, it was actually written following the storyline from the WW1 movie "Johnny got his gun". Look up the original Metallica video of "One" released in 1989. Or better yet, watch the movie to get the whole story...
good news to all nam vets, I stopped at a gas station in Alexandria, La., 2 days ago and a young boy about 26 wanted to shake my hand because I had a marine veteran cap on, his dad was a marine and served in nam and a young girl was working there also and she was about 18 she was aware how veterans were treated upon their return and said she was proud of all for serving. I thought I would pass this moment on to all, R COTTEN E-4 USMC 1967-1971, BLESSINGS TO ALL
All this are shots took from the war. People wanted to know what it was like over there. So they sent cam men to take pictures and video tape them in combat. My father talked to many men who took pictures and video taped combat he told me many would die in battle do to fear and not being trained for live combat.
man my dad was in the vietnam war too and im sorry that your dad died in it.You must be sad that he died in it and i know when i wach it i remember when i was 3 that my dad made it thro.anyways you are a true amarican!
My dad did 3 tours a year a piece. He volunteered for 2 of them because he couldn't adjust to being home. He is 74 now and is having violent night terrors about it.
I was 6 when he left and 10 when he came home and we didn't have internet, only letters that took weeks to get to us. Never knowing if we would get that knock on the door that he was dead. It was hell!
sorry but all i could think of when i saw the helicopters is ride of the valkyries. dun da duuuun dun, dun da da duuuun dun da da daaaaaaa, dun da daa

The real heroes of Vietnam were the draft evaders.
I wish they would bring back the draft. I would of course evade it, and post videos of my living the sweet life as drafted fuckups get killed.
