  • A new find. Townes Van Zandt is a refreshing memory to a time when music that was simple really moved your heart & soul

  • really nice...

  • Beautiful.

  • cannot communicate how moving this music is. live in never-never land (taos, nm) and it COULD be everything, but is not. wish to make it so.

  • What a beautiful way to picture a beautiful song by a great songwriter! It takes you there! Thanks.

  • @jhillman333 "There's no stronger wind that the one that blows

    Down a lonesome railroad line

No prettier sight than looking back

On a town you left behind

There is nothin' that's as real

As a love that's in my mind

Close your eyes, I'll be here in the morning

Close your eyes, I'll be here for a while"

He made great songwriting seem so simple. Very deceptive of him.

    Thanks for dropping by!

  • Love the video...can't get this song out of my head...Townes at his best, moody and beautiful...and Canada too.

  • @ellesetta Thanks! And it's a good song to have stuck in your head.

  • this is just beautiful :)

  • @Sisterrmorphine Thank you :)

  • Love the video. It's great to see how well that Texan's songs fit our beautiful Ontario.

  • @canuckistani81 Thanks! I was happy about how much his song improved my video clips. :)

  • This really reminds me of all the winterhours I`ve spent on Norwegian trains! Great video that suits this wonderful song perfectly! Thanks!

  • @bl00dninja Hey, thanks! I really like this song, and I was so glad that the music and lyrics fit well with my video footage. :)

  • @knotasidechannel That's better. :)

  • @knotasidechannel I'm basking in the sunshine of your praise. Afternoon sunshine...

  • @knotasidechannel The town is Ingersoll, Ontario, and the building is the former train station. The train stopped at the newer boring station right next door, but I thought the old one made for a better ending to the video.

  • @knotasidechannel Hey, sunrises are necessary prerequisites for sunsets. I'd like to catch lots more of both.

  • @knotasidechannel Well, thanks. But you need to learn to pay attention. At least to the important stuff...

  • Beautiful countryside with a perfect song to go along with it. Thanks for this.

  • @GoldeneyePwner Thank you. I'd like to make videos with so many of his songs...

  • wOnderful!!

  • @Shalimarfemme Thanks!

  • Music and film mix very well.

  • @madmiask Thanks -- I love this song.

  • Lovely to see this featured on my friend Michael's (reliablebow) channel tonight.

Adds such a peaceful mood to his place.

  • @nllleonard Hey, I saw that. Very kind of him. (And I'll be exploring his channel too!) :D

  • great song..well played.

  • @leobluesy Townes made songwriting seem so simple. A true genius.

  • That's it! I'm subscribing! Such a favorite song of mine....and glorious images....

Second video of yours I've seen and both are extra special! Thanks! NAncy

  • @nllleonard Well, thank you! His songs are amazing, and I hope to use more. (I made a video last May that uses No Place To Fall, in case you're interested.)

  • Wonderful! Thank you! I love Townes' music. :)

And to my dear friend who shared this trip with me - thank you. :)

  • @cjthemusicman Hey, you're welcome! I'll try to use more TVZ music -- I love it too. :)

  • @cjthemusicman Thanks to Cj for sharing this and leading me to a beautiful channel!

  • Wow, fantastic video! It's completely other than the rest of yours. It was very relaxing and seemed to be very beautiful to travel with the train early in the morning. The orange sunlight looked so brilliant. I'd like to see more videos like that one :) It is interesting and relaxing! Keep it up Philip! You always come up with new ideas, I'd never get such XD.. Thanks for this video! :)

    - Nic

  • @Nic0las11x12 Thanks! I take the train quite a bit, so maybe I'll do more like this, if I get good weather and a window seat, and if I remember to take my camera. :)

  • Running away, breaking the promise of the song? Or going back, getting there by morning? Which is it?

I really like that building at the end -- looks like it should have its own video. :)

  • @AnnaHeartsTheWorld I wondered if I'd get questioned about this. The train is slowing down at the end. You figure it out. :)

I guess that's the former train station in a small town. It's right beside the newer station, but it looks uninteresting, so I stopped the video at the old building.

  • That was a lovely train trip to be on... morning sunshine and all..thanks

  • @5jeanbittersweet Don't you just love taking the train! Especially in the morning, sunrise :)

  • @Stain0 You have to get a window seat though. :)

  • @5jeanbittersweet This doesn't really do justice to the countryside though. Maybe I'll record another train video sometime, on a clearer day.

  • will you ever appear in any of your videos, Philip?

  • @AECSRQ I'm not comfortable on camera, or recording people in general, so the answer is no. For now anyway...

  • ah, the feeling of being snug and warm while there is hard weather outside :)

  • @AECSRQ And I like to have a big window where I can watch. :)
