@pchop00 Its not hard for good singers, but he admits on his youtube channel lunarpower6666 that he doesnt think he's a great singer, and you can really hear it live. He sings off key constantly in every song live. At least he doesnt try to make excuses for it.

Man, I wish the THEODRONES would shut up. Jon Theodore was, and is FUCKING AWESOME behind the kit. A perfect fit for The Mars Volta while he was with them. But he's gone. He's been out of the band for what... approaching half a decade now? Get over it and watch the Omar Rodriguez Lopez Group jamming with Deantoni Parks behind the drumset. He's the drummer that's going to be on the next TMV record, so talk about that and stop wishing for past glories.

@yautsmeister Every singer has bad days. Fatigue, illness, vocal wearing, drugs, and alcohol can cause bad singing in good singers. Remember That Cedric is punishing his vocals with those notes he hits every time he performs with little time for vocal recovery. I've seen them live 4 times and have heard many recorded performances. To name a few, he sounds good on Live at Big Day Out, Scabdates live CD, Live at Nissan Live Sets 2006, Live at The Electric Ballroom, London.

seriously, just type in "mars volta live 2005" into youtube and watch any video. there is a nice l'via at the top, the live in cleveland vid is good "cygnus", there's a cool "take the veil", concertina (titled "live at the greek"), the weenie roast jam is cool, etc etc. all of their 2005 shit is great, the perfect mix of energy but staying in key. i guess all good things come to an end
