  • what is the brand of your flute? (on the sides) and why is it so long?

  • c bass flute

  • the end of your flute is really long . I know that that flute can be in h but yours is really longer ! Can you explain? Thanks

  • Hi! I just found your channel and am starting to do very similar things to this - how did you do it without hearing the other parts to record it? I'm also curious why your foot joint on your normal flute is considerably longer than I've seen before! Have you got a foster extension? Please check out my channel if you get a chance. :)

  • is there anything that bach wrote that isnt absolutely beautiful?

  • Lovely! Thanks for sharing!

  • How did you combine the videos, any special program used??

  • Love it! ...that's one way to get tone & expression to mesh together! LOL! Thanks for sharing!

  • whats that thing in the middle on the bottom?

  • @Hidjdjdj - Hi, that is a bass flute.

  • @FluteMark cool.

  • This is such a beautiful song. Amazing job. What kind of flutes do you use? I play in my highschool band and my parents said that they would look into purchasing me a new flute since mine is about 6-7 yrs. old and is beginning to have some problems. Thanks!

  • Not great audio quality but nice playing.

  • this the very best

  • Mark,

You are brilliant. Just recently Oprah Winfrey showed a your college student make a video just like this with him singing alternative parts and she thought it was amazing, and here you have done it well over a year ago!! I think you are an extremely gifted artist. I love reading your post on Galway Chat. Thank you for this wonderful site!!

  • cool!

  • q weno :)

  • *****

  • que wevos!!

    muy bien

  • That was amazing. I play Flute, this was outstanding.

  • its great ¡

  • how did he synchronized all the 8 video takes?

  • Personally I would like more bass. The upper partials are a little overpowering

  • Whonderful...........

  • this makes me love my era so much more... even when i wanted to play for bach.....

what would bach think of our e-cantatas?

    =]

  • Amazing!

Your videos have given me the courage to upload some of my own; thankyou!

    ^_^

  • This is really cool, nice job. Don't take this the wrong way though, but this does remind me of the video of Beaker from the Muppets singing Ode To Joy lol

  • How did you keep all the parts in such great alignment?

  • kewl I have to say i am in 6th grade and have been playing fer 2 yrs. and i will soon be just as good as u.....hopefully

  • Mark! That is really amazing! Nice sound! Perfect ensemble!!!

    Keep it up!!!

  • Definitivamente un tremendo trabajo. Magnifico el esfuerzo

  • utterly awesome. I love your bass flute. I wish I could get one. Did you an also flute to?

  • wat type of foot r u using? it seems really long...and wat type of flutes did u use i know u used a normal c flute and a bass flute

  • This is not just great in terms of music. It is also very cool to look at all of yous playing in sync. I really should try that sometime!

  • COOL

  • firstly, its a grea work but the secend part that you played is not the choral, its the cantata ' final Alleluia.

  • thanks, i was just going by the score i purchased. mark

  • i just did some research - it is the chorale movement, or done in the form of a chorale. many recordings also title this movement "chorale". thanks for the information, it''s good to know. mark

  • Utterly amazing!

By the way I've found a neat trick to add:

    &fmt=18

to the end of any URL to hear/see it in stereo high quality - works with most music and certainly makes a difference ;o)

  • Thanks for the tip - it works!

  • That was great, im so glad you posted this up.

My school's flute choir is going to be doing this song for our solo and ensemble, im part 8, the bass. And i really needed this to see how my part sounded when it was all complete

Thanks again, and your a great flute player.

  • Totally cool. And I thought I was good at the flute!

  • This is awesome ~ nice job!

  • Dear Marc, Its absolutly great .. All my best Bulent

  • Phantastic, I love it! And what a nice coincidence that I find this accidentally on christmas! ("Uns ist ein Kind geboren" refers to Jesus birth, so it's a christmas song)

  • You are my hero.

    xD

    That is simply amazing.

I really hope I can play like you one day :]

  • omg..

  • Que quapo !!!! es la bomba este tio !!!

  • what is the one with the hook for??

  • It's a swan neck- it allows for the flute to be longer, and therefore lower without making the mouthpiece to far away to reach

  • Exactly, I think it's the bass flute.

  • WOW, Awesome! Long time ago, that i wrote something like this.

    Beautiful! Well done!

    Greetings,

    Jan

  • looks weird. sounds great. well done.

  • how did u do that without it sounding all mixed up? that was awesomeness!!

  • Couls you please tell me how you mixe the flutes while maintaining this good balance

  • very beautiful. i would like to make my sound to be as beautiful as yours. i would also love to get my hands on all the different flutes.

  • Very, very nice!

  • this is so cool! how do u make these vids? or at least what editing software do u use? I'm a flutist and I'd love to make one of these vids sometime

  • Hi - I use Final Cut Express HD on a MacBook Pro. I record each track on a Sony HD HandyCam and mix it all on FCE-HD. The Mac rocks for video and audio mastering. Hope that answers your question. Thanks for your comment. Mark

  • gosh, that's amazing. I try to do it with singing, but so far I am unsuccessful.

  • aren't mac's just awesome? :)

  • It works! Normally, I would cringe at the thought of a flute choir performing something as thick and invloved as Bachian counterpoint, but you've opned my eyes (and ears) and I realize that it indeed works. Obviously, your expertise and beautiful sound helped make this possible. Great job!

    Paul

  • Thats great! Perfect timing!

  • Beautiful - please post more such arrangements!

  • Wow - that was really fantastic. Amazing precision and a very touching musical expression. I guess that's the way Bach has to be played. Carry on with that!

  • sehr schön!

  • Could you pleaaase play the rest of the cantata too! Love it.

  • You are THE MAN!!!!!!!!!!

  • SWEETNESS! how do u do that...hehe this is cool! =)
