Wow...I started violin when I was 10, but I'm still not that good (I'm now 17)! I mostly spend my time writing music or conducting, so that could also be a factor...(I'm still not the best at both, but I'm making progress!)
Alguem sabe o nome?
At 2:12,she begins to play a fragment of other music(observe the bass notes) do somebory knows the name?
No, i have heard the song played like that before. The odds of two seperate master violinists doing the same thing in different places at different times if it wasnt intended int he song is unlikely.
I view things in a very wide tiemframe. I responded when i realized their was a comment to respond to. And i was just making this note since the origional comment that prompted my comment that you responded to was worded almost as if to imply the sample was unrealised when the work was written. An accidental little thing.
If memory serves, it's from a gregorian chant requiem mass. I've heard several theories as to why he includes it. Some say Ysaye is teasing Jacque Thibaud (who was afraid to play the E major preludio) and saying that if he's too scared to play the Bach, he might as well be dead; others say that supposedly Thibaud had a bad reputation with women and Ysaye was saying that if Thibaud is doing "those things" with women, he might as well be dead. I think the former is more likely, but I don't know
Take time to find your rhythm and pace. I think everyone around you tells you that this is all great and fantastic and you are marvelous, but when is it that true artistry is attained? That is the most important question. This is just playing to me... Even if you meant otherwise -- there is more searching that needs to be done. It's pretty... and then what??? Good luck Alex.
wow im completely amazed. that was nearly flawless, yes congrats on your hard work! im sure the audience had no idea how great you really are, wow. look forward to your recordings.
wow your amazing. any idea where you want to go to college to continue your studies? i love your playing keep it up your on list of top female violinists =P
Eugene Ysaye himself bet me he could write a sonata movement with 10 recognizable theme fragments from other violin pieces. I won. He never paid me but he was such a big man, I didn't want to push the issue.
Wonderful playing. I don't think you play this too fast as some of the other people have stated...I love it. Your playing is filled with passion and is very exciting to hear. If you play it slower, I think it would become a bit boring. I guess we can't please everyone. Keep up the great playing.
Read VIOLIN1786's comment and you'll see why I said what I said. He or she says that she plays the piece too fast. I said the piece is meant to be played fast and many greats such as this young lady play it at a very amazing speed. I gave Rachel Barton Pine as a reference.
You play absolutely amazingly!!! Is there anything that you can't play? I have to ask though, is yur bow extra long, or is the violin small because it seems very long when you play?

O Dies Irae que ela toca não é musica gregoriana, mas um trecho da Fantástica de Berlioz que representa um grande momento do romantismo na música.
The Dies Irae she plays is not music Gregorian, but an excerpt from Berlioz's great that represents a great moment of Romanticism in music.

it is a gregorian chant called dies Irae or day of wrath, it is actually quoted throughout the piece
Arodang 2 years ago
In which case the sample is still intentionaly included, and not exactly slipping into a seperate piece of music.
Stormthorn67 2 years ago
What is your point? I wasn't trying to contradict you. I am just curious as to why you would reply to something so old.

This piece is called the Obsession, it is very fun to play. Alot of violinist tend to play too fast. Slow down and enjoy the inner harmony.
VIOLIN1786 4 years ago
It's a show piece, so most greats such as this young lady and greats of the past tend to play it pretty fast.

Listen to how Rachel Barton Pine plays it. Way faster!

And? What does that mean?

I didn't knew this piece, but is it based on third partita prelude of J.S. Bach? Sometimes I hear a melodyline of that.
