@whiteXshadow5150 It's when you use the emulator you're playing the game on to save the game for you instead of using the save feature of the game itself, just like you would a document. Some games(mostly old school games) don't have a save feature, and are BS-ingly hard, hence Lukenuetzmann's constant save stating.

There's a save state?!?! What the hell? I had no idea. If I knew there was a save state, it could have saved me a lot of grief. Anyone who played this game knows how hard it is and they also know how satisfying it is whenever we finally beat a level. I would have beaten this game if I knew how to beat the second Wolverine stage and the first Cyclops stage.

@racashcarkry He's playing it on an emulator he's able to record the frame he was on and reload it. You can't do that on a real snes.

My friend and I used to play this game.. or TRIED to... It was pretty damn hard for us as kids to play it, and it's obviously still going to be hard if I ever try it again... ugh.. apparenlty the developers thought Spider-Man was a clumsy oaf who couldn't pull himself up a ledge, climb on some fairly normal surfaces, actually PUNCH an enemy, or shoot a web to swing on while in mid-air. Thankfully Maximum Carnage made up for that, but it was still pretty tough.

I don't know if this will make you feel better, but this and the first level were pretty much the only levels I could reliably beat. I think I beat the first Storm one and the first Wolverine one like... once. Ever.
