  • Driving me crazy with that NOW, doc

  • Is it ok to get a cage for baby sugar glider 55" tall?

  • wats the size of the first red cage?

  • I purchased a cage before I watched this video, and it has 1" spacing between the bars. Should I return it or is there a chance the sugar gliders still won't be able to get out?

  • is it ok to put the hanging(sleeping) pouch above a nesting rock?

  • I wanttt one so badly but I dunno if they could survive in the type of climate I live in so around 85 degrees is that ok for a sugar glider or do I need to have my ac turned on?

  • heating ROCKS? or RODS?

  • @musicLUVR0214 heat rocks:)

  • you didnt say the dimensions of the red cage recommended for joeys

  • Hello me and my girlfriend are trying to find a bigger and better cage for our gliders now that they have grown up, we found a nice looking large one with plenty of room for branches, toys and wheels etc but the coating on the bars is called "Coated in Avilon non-toxic protective powder paint." is that ok? or should we keep looking. if you could respond that would be great. Thanks

  • can you get these in Canada?

  • I will be purchasing a glider as soon as the breeder has one available. I have seen his current baby nut she is too young to leave her mom. Anyways, the point is about my cage. I have a custom built cage that I made myself. It is made of wood, has different ledges (floors) to jump to, and I can modify it. The front is sliding plexiglass doors and the entire top is wire mesh for good aeration. It is 2 ft by 2ft by 4 ft and the entire thing has been painted with a special nontoxic, Eco paint th

  • think i could put my sugar glider in a dog cage that is like tht

  • where can you find these cages?

  • I have a 3W x 3L x 6H cage that is made of wood and chicken wire. Is that cage suitable for a glider?

  • mine has two front doors. (the larger cage)

  • can we use a ferret nation cage

  • Is it 100% necessary to have a cage? Would it be ok to have a "free range" sugar glider?

  • could i make a smaller cage for when the sugar glider is young and use a larger cage when it gets older?

  • PLEASE HELP ME, I need a cage really soon, where can I get the smaller red one????

  • @Ashkapashh -dont know if you found a cage or anything else or if you have already gotten one but if you go to sugarbearsdotcom they have everything you need

  • would a bedroom work as a place for a sugar glider?

  • What are the dimensions for the red cage at the beginning?

  • What are the dimensions for the starter cage (red cage)?

  • I've built a cage and we used 1 inch by 1 and a half inch wire. It's not coated with anything and doesnt poke. Is this too big?

  • go to pocket pets and look at those cages

  • when he says "cheap exercise wheels" he's meaning any exercise wheel you'd get at a pet store. The wiring I've heard can be dangerous (Wouldn't know because I took mine out because he never used it..planning on getting a wodent wheel). The hamster wheel's are really loud because the coaitng eventually where's off and the metal rubs together.

  • When I look for heat rocks it says they are for reptiles... Is it the same thing or is there a specific one for Sugar Gliders?

  • what size is that first cage

  • uhmm...hi im about to purchase a sugar glider and i was wondering how you can bond with a year old sugar glider and how to make it stop biting

  • I have two rooms, i have a bedroom and a spare back bedroom, the back bedroom is't very big though, and i was wondering if it will be okay in there instead of in a cage. I was planning on putting like all ropes and tunnels coming from the ceiling and walls and all the fun thing gliders like. I was wondering if that would be okay? Buy a cage first of couse but then into my room.

  • I have a question. I have recently been watching your videos and find them VERY helpful. I was wondering the deminsions of the smaller cage. I was looking for a cage , and I found one that is 25'' H x 11.3'' W x 14.3'' D and I know that hight is better then width, so I was wondering if those deminsions were ok. Thank you.

  • well,a co-worker won a family of sugar gliders in a magazine contest. I am wondering how big should the cage be? how many are in a sugar glider family?

  • Respond to this video...Glass tanks are not recommended for gliders. Finding a PVC coated cage is not difficult. The ASGV cannot recommend any particular vendor, but you can find a list of manufacturers - and comparisons - at sugargliderreviewsdotorg

  • Is it better to have 2 so they have company?

  • @livinloud1 There is a video in this series devoted entirely to answering this question. Please watch it and I think you'll find exactly what you are looking for. :-)

  • can a college student have a sugar glider? i'd really really like one now and i'm wondering if that'd be a good environment for one. (of course i would definately carry it to classes haha) but i understand that college students can't really have pets. I'm not in college yet but i'm thinking if i were to get a pet in college, i sugar glider would definately be it

  • @uberspazzcake217 As far as practicality for college students, gliders can make excellent pets. However, it all depends on whether your dorm will allow pets of any kind.

  • @sugarglidervet man am I glad I found your video's, it can't be said enough how much bullshit is on internet, people know nothing about these animals, they will keep you up all knight barking, they bite, they stink, next thing their going to say their satans afterbirth. what's become of internet and all its forums? wow thanks for your reliable info though it really helps me.

  • where can I find the cage (2nd larger cage shown) you recommend for adults? I really like it and think it would suit our needs very well.

  • when first bonding with my sugar glider, can i use a heat lamp instead of a heat rock in my cage?

  • @brook20renee Heat rocks and heat lamps serve two different purposes. A heat lamp is great as an additional source of heat, but the heat rock is also helps speed up the bonding process dramatically.

  • Hey, I'm considering getting one of these lovely little things. You say in another video you carry yours around with you all day, if I were simply going for a gentle walk could I carry him around outside the house with me?

  • @Joshnotchuck Sure. Once they are bonded to you, they make great companions.

  • Dr. David, thank you very much for your useful information. YOU ARE THE BEST!

  • wer do u get suga glidas ? How much do dey cost.

  • How often do you clean their cage?

  • I have two questions could i use a heat pad and also could you possibly give me a link to the cage that is for young sugar gliders thanks-------

  • Thank you so much for the vids more vets should do this.... then again it could be bad for business.

  • what about when you are cleaning the house, vaccuming, or using a hair dryer? I understand you wouldn have to keep them away from chemical house cleaners and what not, but does a vaccum scare them?? I live in an apartment and i would really love to get one of these amazing little creatures, but i would not want them to be in an environment that scares them. What sort of noise tolerance do they have?

  • @LTaarnes Gliders are pretty resilient little creatures and will get used to most household noises in a short period of time.

  • You should make this into a t.v. show! and were are you guess located?

  • if i only buy one sugar glider will it bre lonely if i still play with it

  • @FUNNYDUDE2525 We have an entire video in this series devote to that question. Please watch and it should answer all your concerns so you can make the best decision for your situation.

  • are you saying to just get a heat rock and a nesting towel and not buy a pouch? is there a way i can email you i have quite a few questions that the internet isnt helping to answer

  • @LineSkis4Life Sure, I have a daily practice so it might take me a few days to get back with you, but I will certainly try.

  • Heat rocks have been proven to cause burns in animals. I am studying at a top school to become an exotic vet here and I have a lot of experience with mammals and reptiles, both of which I have seen with severe burns caused by heat rocks. My father is a USDA licensed breeder of reptiles, birds, and exotic mammals and has been for over almost 40 years and he knows this for a fact as well. I can also show proof of burns caused by heat rocks through pictures and vet documentation.

  • congratulations on soon becoming a vet. I'm sure you will find that devoting your life to animals will be as rewarding as it has been for me. That being said, I'm obviously well aware of all the info out there on heat rocks & burns in other animals. I'm not a fan of them in other animals but with these it is perfectly fine & provides some very unique advantages. I have experience with literally tens of thousands of these animals using heat rocks for over a decade with no incidents whatsoever.

  • What kind of bedding do you recommend to put inside the cage or is a towel preferred? I saw in the cage in the video that there was also a hide box. . .? I'd love to know what kind of setup you have personally.

  • I use a heat rock with a nesting towel - that's it - and it works great. Avoid hanging pouches or nest boxes - as they can inhibit the bonding process. The "box" you are referring to is actually a dining room where their food is. If you watch the videos on nutrition, you will see exactly how that works. :-)

  • Thank you; I just watched the Nutrition videos that you recommended. I've been thinking about bringing one into my home, but really want to gain enough knowledge and set up an enclosure before actually purchasing a Glider. With the setup you have, how often do you have to clean the nesting towel or do they normally make the mess in the 'dining room?' I understand with any animal there is a high possibility of a mess, but I was wondering how often the towel and cage itself have to be cleaned.

  • You only need to clean the towel when it starts to give off a smell - which is about once every couple weeks. You'll clean the dining room every night when you take it out of the cage to refresh all their food. Just rinse and dry with a towel.

  • do sugar gliders have babies

  • there has never been a documented case of a sugar glider ever carrying rabies. That is why they are not required to be vaccinated for this in any state.

  • is it better to have more than 1 or 2 sugar glidders and what sexes would you recommend do they "mate for life" if you have 2 should they be both males or both females or one of each, and if you have 4 could you have 2 males and 2 females

  • what are the names of your suger gliders

  • if i am gone from friday night to saturday night/sunday morning should i not get a sugar glider?

  • You would need to find somebody who could come in and give them a serving of fresh fruit or veggies every night along with their pellets.

  • hello very nice information way better than expert village um i was wondering if i could keep a sugarglider in a screen reptile enclosure its 100& screen with a metal frame

  • i mean 100% screen enclosure made for reptiles

  • without seeing it, my inclination would be yes.

  • my only concern is couldnt they sit a heat rock to long and it will basically fry their insides? i had a bearded dragon and we had a heat rock for him and he nvr got off of it and it ended up killing him within a week! so plz reply

  • That is a common concern, due to internet myths about heat rocks either burning or electrocuting gliders - but none of that is true. Gliders are much more intelligent than reptiles and heat rocks have been used successfully for well over a decade in tens of thousands of sg cages without one documented case of a glider ever burning itself. My own gliders love their heat rock and it's very important to provide them with a supplemental heat source in their cage. You can also use a heat lamp.

  • i want one, but just one, a male, do i really have to have 2 ???

  • there is another video in this series devoted entirely to answering this question. Check it out and I think it will answer your question thoroughly.

  • These are great videos! And I have trouble trusting your information and general advice

    Thank you so much!
