Every OS has viruses.

Okay, Windows has had it's share of security threats, but that's only because people use it the most! So then virus creators target them. If Puppy Linux was used as much as Windows, it would have just as much viruses as Windows!

im running puppy linux on an old flat desktop with the monitor on top it has a pentium 3 processor and 128 ram i think but the soundcard isnt working how do i fix that. its for messing around but i needs my music!!!

You usually run it from the CD, you don't really need to install, and it's not used much day-to-day.

I use it as a backup in case my hard drive screws up and to boot Linux on computers I don't want to install it on, like school computers.

you should try ubuntu its very simple to install and use.

It depends on how much patience you have to figure out how it works, I can tell you, it took me many hours of research on forums to set my puppy the way I wanted. The puppy comunity is very helpful and when you finally customize your minimalistic puppy GNU/Linux you will never change your os again.

I love Puppy Linux because to me it is the faster because of it's size & plus it is a great Distro for any pc old or new, I for one run it on both & even on my quad core & why? because Puppy is the best in my eyes & I am not judging ubuntu or any other Linux Distro, just for me Puppy runs perfect & out of the box it plays all of my video & audio formats straight out with no adding of any codecs, The only thing that I ever update on puppy is firefox & flash & also I uninstall seamonkey browser.

what i love about puppy linux is that even if you have an HD Monitor set at high resolution, it will automatically adjust to clear to read text unlike windows xp, also it works so fucking fast and is very friendly. besides that i can fix computers with it, partitioning formatting booting, and you don't have to worry about drivers it detects almost everything, even some things that vista won't. It's one of my favorite OS's I encourage you to learn this. Thanks Linux.!!!

I have used Debian the last 4years :), i got ubuntu on my laptop tou wich im not happy with so il proboboly either install puppy linux or DSL. :). Nice that it is HD aswell
