This is the only real confirmation of my childhood!... wow .... I knew these things were real cartoonsI was 6,7 & years old back then.. thanks you-tube. These cartoon's didn't teach blacks to hate anyone... this was our escape into imaginations... of our hearts...I feel sorry for narrow, weak politically correct ppl....
I was beginning to think I was the only person who remembered this cartoon, which was an absolute favourite of mine as a kid! Can someone post some episodes, perhaps? It's torture having the intro only!
@yesimnative77 This was the sixties. Any saturday matinee would feature racial slurs. Native Americans in their indigenous homeland being cut down with firearms and told they were "savages". Abject genocide presented by networks and viewed by pre-school children as commonplace family entertainment.
Cool McCool is one of my all time very favorite cartoons !! There is something very COOL about it.. *sigh.. they dont make cartoons like this anymore !! :)
Oh god was this cool. Me and my sister used to watch an old VHS collection of Archie toons that had this on it. It's amazing how much they managed to fit on the tape, we literally got to 'meet' every single villain mention in the intro on top of a bunch of other toons.
I finally figured out who Cool McCool reminds me of: Robert Goulet. Am I the only one who sees a resemblance? Of course, when it comes to cool, Goulet was considered one of the coolest in his day.
mccool looks like a suave frenchman until you hear him open his mouth...lol...loved watching this back in the early 80's on wpwr channel 60(chicago/aurora)
I was too young to realize this was a james bond who talked like (vaudeville, radio, tv and film comedian) Jack Benny. Weird. I just liked that he whistled for his car.
LOL blast from the past! i wos born in 1980, that was on of my favorite cartoons back then! Cant believe it was created in 1966! Danger is my business! LOL...
"OH YEAH!" One of the damn mega-coolest cartoon theme songs in the world! I just love it! Cool is a bumble stumbler but we all love him anyway. I always loved it at the end of the episode when Number #1 would get mad at him and push the "button'" and would send Cool on his little insane trip out the window or whatever..... or put him into a cannon and shoot him out or whatever....LOL!!
Spelling out "Cool McCool" in the opening titles is unique. They simply don't make openings like this anymore. I mean, seriously, when was the last time you heard a HARPSICHORD in a opening theme? The Addams Family? (Which, I believe, was BEFORE Cool.)
Bob Crane was the star of Hogan's Heroes, Bob Kane was the creator of Cool McCool, and Bob McFadden was the voice of Cool McCool. Of these three Bobs the first appears to have had no connection with the show.
Cool Mc Cool kam in Deutschland immer auf den Sender Tm3.Die Serie war wirklich interessant.Aber man hat nie den Boss zu Gesicht bekommen, sondern bloß den Arm!
"COOL McCOOL" was first seen on NBC's Saturday morning schedule [12:30-1pm(et)] during the 1966-'67 season, and reruns contimued for another year before it was cancelled in 1968...
