  • excellent! I can't believe i fixed it myself

  • good job

  • This would've been a well done video if you just took the thingamajigger and put it at a 90 degree angle to the flux capacitator. I know, it's a blessing and a curse how smart I am.

  • This is a great video. But I have a problem. My kitchen faucet has an aerator with a hose, and I think the hose is preventing the hub assembly from coming off. And I can't get the hose out of the faucet. What do I do?

  • @mlustig1 Does the spout pull out of the faucet. If so, you normally do not need to remove the spout. In that case you would just remove the handle to access the cartridge. Most pull out faucets have a ceramic disk cartridge.

  • Excellent demonstration. Two thumbs up!!!

  • Thank you so much! All I had to do to repair my faucet was watch this video, remove everything, and then reset everything!

  • Saved me a Saturday plumbing call; very good instruction and even I was able to get this correct. Thanks.

  • Thank you SO much.

  • 4x3 video format.....nooobs!

  • Fantastic! Had a plumber, 14 years ago, replace the washers. Do you have an 800 number where I can purchase the washers and springs replacements? This is the exact Delta faucet that we have in the kitchen - john.courtright@nmfn.com

  • Thanks for the excellent tips. almost gave up when I couldn't get the seats and springs out. great tip. used a nail groome rtool from the local drug store when I couldn't find anything like a dental pick.

  • I installed a new delta kit washers on the single handle faucet. With in a week the Faucet is leaking again.I check the washers and found the washers rip.I check the stem ball did not find no jagged edges on the metal stem ball. Why do the washers tear specially on the hot water side.

  • Thank you so much. You are awesome!

  • Thanks for the video. This was my first kitchen faucet repair. It took a while (about 2 hours), and 3 trips to the hardware store, but it cost me less than $25.

My faucet has a diverter, that the video didn't mention, but I figured that out.

Great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

  • One more fixed, Thanks!

  • Thank you for your very clear explanation!

  • Thank you so much for posting this. Life saver. :D

  • which way do the springs go in? There is a sm/lg end, then the rubber tops--which way do they go on? The blurry diagram isn't clear & my handle is still NOT tight after tightening screw with allen wrench!! I am freak'n out here!! I even turned the screws around, tried everything backwards, still Not tight! The ball seems loose too!?

  • Excellent how-to. Just wish it wasn't blurry on the close ups. Thanks for making this.

  • Thanks much!

  • Nice video. I am about to tackle the job with much more confidence. One point, as a retired dentist, is that the helper that is used should be referred to as a "dental instrument" not a "dental tool". Misuse of that term is a a sore point with dentists.

  • A useful video by a good-looking gent. You can't go wrong. Thanks!

  • Thanks, my wife took it apart then asked me to figure out how to put it back together. You saved the day!

  • The new tight fitting parts might make it much harder to get the valve body into the white guide slot. Requires a lot of down force to keep seated while screwing the cap. Thanks for the step by step guide. Even though I couldn't get it right for a while at least I knew the procedure and eventually got it seated while pushing down on the valve body for all I was worth. The lever is pretty tight now and takes a bit more force to turn on the water now but hey, no more leaky faucet!

  • Thank you, hubby was cussing up a storm, this video saved me from a head ache.

  • 8:28...what if the water is comming up through the cam and the ball? I made sure the springs and seat are snug in the holes, but water is still comming out.

  • Thank You. You just save me a bunch of money. I very appreciate it.

  • what about the plastic washer or whatever it is on top of the cap; it looks adjustable?

  • I got two sets of O rings. Two thin and two thick. Which ones do I use?

  • Which side of the springs goes in the valve body - they're tapered?

  • I replaced springs and, seats, cam, cam washer, and ball. Now I am getting leak from handle. Is additional tightening needed, or does that indicate that it is not seated properly?

  • Thanks! This saved me from having to call a plumber.

  • Thanks for the video. I have an old house with rust in the pipes, and the hot water side of mine I think is plugged partially. This will help with figuring it out! =D

  • It really helps thanks

  • I followed your instruction as shown but after I did I noticed one of the rubber seat is shorter than the other, which side would the shorter one go? after the repair no more leak but so is the cold water? wife is asking me to buy a new faucet now. I don't know what happened but why did I lose the cold water?

  • Thank you Mr. Bush! You saved me at least $70!

  • Thank you for the help! Upon taking everything apart to see what I could see, I discovered that the cap nut was not tight (I screwed it off by hand) so when I put it all back together again I made sure that the cap was on good an sung. Then low and behold, no more drip! :)

  • Thanks for the help it works

  • Thank you for this video Mr. Bush.

  • Thank you! Very useful. :)

  • Great video! Information is presented in a deliberate and understandable manner. I was able to face a much dreaded repair. DONE. :)

  • Thanks so much for posting this video! You've given me the courage to attempt this repair on my own. Wish me luck! :)

  • the best video, thank you GBU

  • what if u dont have a pick can u use something else?

  • He's Ted Turner and Mitt Romney's love child.

  • thank you henry bush. this video helped me out. i was getting super frustrated w changing my seat washers in my sink bc it was dripping. i didnt know until i watched this video that after you change the seat washers you must use the flat wrench to tighten the cap back on the faucet. the instructions in the seat washer case says hand tighten , but they were wrong you must tighten w a wrench

  • My faucet is leaky at the spout. I took it apart and wonder a couple of things. The O rings are not super tight? and the seat and spring assembly - one of flush and one was not? Initially I thought the flush was wrong, but on second thought the flush one may be to flush and spring not working and allowing water to go up?

  • thanks for the info

  • you should check out speedy valve from floodmaster it could help out alot with this.

  • check out speedyvalve from floodmaster.could help out in this task

  • thanks dude ur awesome worked for me :)

  • If the spout is tight you will just have to put some muscle into it. It also helps to wiggle it back and forth as u are pulling. After u get it off put on new o rings and lube it.

  • Use a pair of adjustable pliers on the cap. You will probably end up scratching the finish on the cap but u can replace that if it is to bad

  • On My bathroom faucet i cannot get the cap to turn. I tried as hard as I could but it is frozen on . What Now?

  • I think you people need to clean your video screens. The video is not blurry. His instructions are excellent.

  • This video is extremely helpful to understand the steps.

My question is what to do if spout does not come so easily as you have demonstrated in your video?

  • I installed all new parts in my kitchen Delta faucet but I just hand tightened the cap assembly. The handle was really loose and very easy to move. There wasn't any leaking on any parts but, the handle had to be set back a bit or the spout would run a very light stream of water. So tomorrow I will use the wench and see what happens. Great video. Thanks! Oh! And by the way, my husband doesn't do any faucet repairs. LOL

  • THANK YOU!

  • Thank you! My friend and I just fixed her faucet by following your directions! Excellent! It doesn't leak and works great! :)

  • I like...the way...that you talk...in...the video =)

  • Thanks Wes. I did it in under 15 minutes. I needed a little lube on teh black washers to get them to seat and getting the white thing in the slot at the end was a trick but other than that it went really smooth.

    Thanks again.

  • Thanks so much!!!! This video saved me lots of cash because I was able to repair my dripping kitchen faucet myself. :)

  • Excellent Video! (except for the blury close-ups...) it was clear, helpfull, complete. Really appreciate it!

  • Great Video Henry. Very helpful. Thank you very much!

  • Very helpful and detailed instructions! Thanks!

  • nice tutorial, crappy point/shoot camera used for video.

  • Great video! I followed it all step by step as shown here and repaired my first faucet!

  • ty for the video. see ye

  • Thanks! One thing, when I went to get the parts, the guy said probably all I needed was the seats and springs, not the other parts, and it turned out he was right. Home Depot website has a Delta faucet repair kit, but the store didn't, and that was where I got this info. It solved my problem.

  • Great video! Delta sent me a free repair kit and the instructions were terrible. Your video saved me!

  • If your video is not in focus, doesn't that defeat the purpose of actually making it?

  • superb video, although the videographer should be flogged for not knowing how to macro-focus!!

  • Thank you so much! Christmas day the pipes froze. When we got them thawed my Delta kitchen faucets cold water was dripping. I wasn't sure if it could be repairedand was on my way to Lowes to buy a new faucet when I googled delta faucet repair your vid popped up. Your a lifesaver!

  • thank you!

  • it was great, I am a 75 year old woman & i will go to lows and look for the delta repair kit

  • Thanks for the instructions, mine fixed!

  • Good advice. I repaired a 36 year old leaky Delta faucet with your help. Thanks a lot!!

  • If you don't grease the seals at the ball you won't be happy with the repair. I was going to replace the faucet but someone told me about the grease. On the 4th repair (over a 10 year period on my Mothers faucet) it works perfectly now. The genuine Delta seals and springs may have helped too. I also greased the side of the seals so they can move in their bores freely. Live and learn. Grease your seals.

  • good video. Thank you.

  • you rock mister! i hate calling someone for this. i feel so inept. this was the easiest thing to watch and do! thanks so much!

  • Thank you so much from us, too! You just saved us at least $90.00 and my hubby's ego!

No leak! We've been having a pot under the faucet, then worried that they didn't provide the instructions when we bought the repair kit.

Didn't need the ball; but this was SO GREAT!

    Thanks

  • Helpful video - thanks. Delta model 188/488 has a tight spout, it wasn't clear when enough parts were off and it was ready to come off - your video showed enough so I could just carefully tug in small motions until it cleared the valve body. Also, Delta phone support said at the time of my parts order not to lube the O-rings, so I didn't. I'm not sure if the new O-rings will last very long or not, I agree your stem lube steps have been normal with other faucets. Time will tell?

  • This is like an episode of Mr. Rogers Neighbourhood or Mr. Dress Up. LOL!!

  • Thanks! Very solid instructions. My water and I really appreciate it!

  • thanks!!!

  • EXCELLENT!! You are awesome! Thanks!

  • Excellent, thank you so much. Got my faucet fixed properly, and it no longer drips.

  • Thank you very much for the video! You saved me over $60. You rock dude!

  • Helpfull video. On the ball there is a slot that is on the cold water side. Is there a cam or guide inside the valve body assembly that engages that slot? What is the purpose of that slot?

  • Yes there is a little pin inside of the valve body. That pin holds the ball in proper alignment with the hot ad cold ports. If it did not have a pin the ball would just spin around. Sorry it took a couple of days to respond I was out of the office for a couple of days. Good luck!

  • Hi, I saw your video on You Tube. My Delta has a built-in spray spout. How do I remove the spout assembly to replace the two O rings, with a faucet that has a pull-out spray as the faucet assembly.

    Thank you

  • Did you figure out how to remove the spout assembly, i have hthe same built-in sprayer.

  • Thank you. I've been intimidated by my leaky faucet, somehow expecting it to fix itself. I'm relieved to see such clear instructions on how to fix the problem!

  • Very Informative
