  • I can see u yelling to the kids "grab your trunks we got an indoor swimming pool" lol. Glad to see ya got er done

  • @fordtontruck hay now you might have something there lol

  • How come the basement floods so much?

  • @thedavidzombie Its very old and leaks bad

  • I spent the cash and bought one with a life time warranty....i had to change and buy mine at 1:00am on a sunday. got lucky to find an all steel unit.

  • @greatwhitetailhunter I got the last one with a five year on it but can't find the box lol

  • I have bought that same exact pump and they last a long time. The last 1 lasted about 18 years. When it went out I used 2 hose clamps and a rubber quick connect to make changing more easy. Glad I don't have to deal with water in the basement all the time anymore.

  • @JimmyRayhere I need to fix that leak this year lol

  • @ShawnCFarm That's an easy quick fix. Just find a rubber coupling at your local hardware store. I never used any sealant on mine and it never leaks. Just use 2 hose clamps to tighten it up snug. It's called a rubber flex fitting and comes with the hose clamps built in. or attached.

  • Friggin chinky shit, i hope you manage to get a refund for that junk man. Good video Shawn. Peace

  • @mazb6t Not yet, still have to find the box lol

  • i put a new sump pump in my basement in last year and it works awesome

  • @froggyman222 So far this good.

  • @ShawnCFarm nice buts its a matter of time

  • flight pump is what they used in a mine i worked in years ago .they dont really break often and easy to repair .we used to reverse the polarity to clean them out once and a while but meant to pump water uphill hard .im sure you have seen them.i seen a small one suitable for you on a job a while back .prob pricey i guess but you said your an ebayer so maby luck might have it

  • Your best bet Shawn is to grab every older model sump pump you see at the dump, I find people throw out the older model's when they buy a house because they think a new one will be better but there wrong, The old one's can be pulled apart and fixed unlike the new ones that that a mostly sealed and not fixable when they break. Another upside to the old pumps is you can swap a lot of the parts.

  • Hey man, hate to hear about your misfortune. Don't fret that a little water back flushes into the catch basin, it will clear any debris from the pump impeller. Hope you all the best....

  • @mainbearing68 Thanks my friend

  • Sorry about your misfortune. Life always seems to throw us many curve balls. I'm glad that you caught it before it got worse.

  • @wolfsheadoil1 Life would be no fun if it was all clear sailing

  • @ShawnCFarm Kind of true !

  • Sorry about that high water table. And bad equipment. Make something indestructible yourself ;)

  • @mechadrake Hmmmm maybe

  • Wow Shawn, that really sucks. You really need 2 pumps so you have a backup if the first one fails.

  • @edzgarage I was think about that and a alarm

  • @edzgarage I was think about that and a alarm

  • @edzgarage I was think about that

  • @edzgarage Thats what I was thinking about doing.

  • We had to bail for the first time in over 18 years here the other day when the power went off. I remember being down in that basement about 29 or 30 years ago working on a sump pump with your uncle Albert. I have one of those hokey sump pumps and it is working (knock on wood) great. Rubbers have been going on "rods" for many years. LOL...

  • @gumper5242 The newer pumps suck lol

  • i feel your pain bro same thing happens 2 me every couple off years man it sucks!!! i put 2 pumps in the hole 1 in the water and 1 a few inches above the the top of the bottom 1

  • @peckiledorf I was thinking about doing that

  • yeah i lived in an old farm house while growing up rock foundation and it was mandatory to open the door everyday to check the water level use to pump it out into the driveway made for mud running on the bicycle lol we used wood heat and the water heater was moved to the bathroom so we only kept can goods on a shelf in the basement nothing ever lasted down there glad you were able to save your furnace

  • @carrabec99 It sucks. I should have doug around the house before I sold my back hoe

  • That sucks. I wish you the best of luck, be careful, don't electrocute yourself.

  • @mdk70454 I'll try not to lol

  • good vid man i have the same shit in my basement 2yrs is about it for a pump.those merc switches good bad to allmost like a flat spot in them and dont make contact.good luck!!!!mike

  • @7minibike2 Thanks my friend

  • Electric shock???

  • @Jejh4lom The last flood yaers ago from the water heater

  • I know the feeling bud,

I did a video response of my issue this summer.

I suck but what can a person do?

    later

  • @19overlord64 I'll check it out

  • If your basement is really prone to flooding i would keep a backup pump down there so you can repair thr main pump without that kind of flooding. Thr cycling on and off is what kills the motors in sumpmpumps. It over heats the start windings

  • @1944johndeerel Thats prob what killed the last one lol

  • Man you have a serious trash problem. lol...

  • @ramseyst42 i need to have adump day and get rid of alot of stuff around here

  • Seems like your always getting screwed.

  • @krismounts Seems like it somedays

  • i know this is a stupid question. but where is all the water coming from?

to bad you couldn't put a pipe under ground and let it run outside.

    thanks for sharing...

  • @MrOne2watch The basement has cracks in it all over the place. I need to fix the leaks

  • Put that cheak vale in asap!! Im runing 2 pumps one as a back up. try that when you can. later good luck

  • boy oh boy do I know how you feel !

  • @RoflmaoAtSheepeople There is a light at the end of the tunnel, I just can't see it lol

  • chines junk. just cant buy any thing quality thees days.

  • @IHcubcadet Its all about how much money they can make off of it

  • I had no idea people had houses that needed to be constantly pumped out. Sounds like a real PIA.

  • @zzQUEzz Yes but not every house leaks like this. I need to fix the leaking

  • get like 2 crappy harborfreight ones and hook them all up at once so if one breaks the other still goes

  • @tbonesinator I was thinking of putting a second one up alittle higher just in case. It was cheap enuff

  • keep that warranty. lol

  • @TheBrokemechanic And the box. Its going back if it lets go. I still have to look for the old one

  • Just replaced mine a month ago .dam things are getting junker, every time i get one .first one 6 yrs ,second one 3 yrs and now this one. i bought a cheap one this time 110 dollors.my first was 80. will i get 6yrs?

  • @finpainter1 This ones still going lol. I hope it makes it untill a year

  • That pump sucks. <~~~ See what I did there? LOL I kill me!

  • @CDNBadass Hahahahah

  • Cheap junk, stuff just isn't built like it use to be.

  • @OldTimeForties Nope and it will never be made like that again. They want you to buy things all the time

  • I'll have to make some vids of my pumps . If your basement floods all the time get a bunch of concrete blocks and put your water heater up on it when you hook it up so it doesnt get wet

  • @tjones2269 If you make a video send me the link bro. My water heater and jet pump are up off the floor with blocks. Last time it came up really high.

  • Shawn your the man make a redneck one im sure its gonna work and last

  • @hp11208 I need to fix the leaks lol

  • Brings back wonderful memories of when my in laws basement flooded. They were away and guess who got to take care of that mess? lol.

  • @satajet883 You got to clean all the mess up lol. That would be something that happens to me, now I don't fell as bad

  • checked out your old flood vid, didnt see you almost get electrocuted.

    what keeps flooding your basement?

  • @ts46176 The house is really old so it has alot of cracks. Seems to be get worse. I need to be fixing it this year

  • Wow Shawn, you did a great job draining the water out of the basement. I have a basement and i'm always worried about the pump going up and the water flooding the basement. We have a mini alarm that we use for the cellar and it makes a noise when the water comes up. Have a nice day. Pinky

  • @cowcowsam1 Yes I need to make or buy an alarm for it or maybe even buy a battery back sump

  • so, the check valve could go up high on one of the horizontal pipes, so you don t need to get a new one with every pump

  • @bassboy923 I like to keep it closer to the pump but it can go anywhere you want to put it. The closer to the pump the less water that will run back. I got a new valve just have to put it in now.

  • You`re not alone with things goin to hell when its the worst time possible..been there..and will again I suppose. Point is you deal with it and ass kick the problem and move on. You show us what you did to git er done, thats why we watch and sub.,your real just like us, cars, homes, kids, work, chores. Just makin our way day by day. thumbs up.

  • @55points Thanks my friend.

  • what a shitty time of year for that to happen

  • @boardingpass04 Shes all better for now lol

  • If you have the money, they sell basement sealers that will waterproof it, you use a roller or big brushes to apply it... can't recall name brands but, its a thick white paint like substance... comes in 5 gallon buckets... just a thought, instead of waiting for the water to get in, stop it from getting inside in the first place. fight fire with fire !

  • @yellowgroove Yes I need to do something about it this year. At the very least it will slow it down

  • @ShawnCFarm yep, i am fortunate, i have a finished basement and a poured foundation on a house built in 1982 so no leaks but my friends house leaks like a sib, it was built in 1907, still has the coal bin and the furnace was a coal burner converted to gas, its a hot water heated house, pretty complicated setup. he lives at the bottom of a steep hill in an area that floods regular, he also pumps the water out via sump.

  • @yellowgroove brother in laws house was done in 82 and the basement leaks horribly. He has one of the very few basements in east texas.

  • why do you have water in your basement? how does it get in there? no one has pumps in their houses in sweden..

  • @Hesselgrennr1 The water table is really high here, so at some times of the year it just runs out of the floor. The house was made in 1886

  • @ShawnCFarm just wondering, how come the water gets in? i meen ,its a basement to the house aint it ? so if water gets in youll proberbly get some funges problems in the house ,or is it that good vented that the water just gets in and out cus of opening space?try getting a well pump for drinking water use in household ,usely more relyable cause to the need of water

  • @transdetendal The house is really old and the water runs out of the floor. The water table is really high here. The only thing with a jet pump is that it needs to stay primed all the time

  • That thing under the seal is probebly a condensor for the starter windings, if that is broke the pump probebly will not start because there is no power to the coil that starts it so it only humms.

  • @happymark1805 Maybe I should try and fix it

  • @ShawnCFarm yes, it could be an easy fix if it is the same kind of motor that is used in my smaller pump, and a condensator is probebly only a few bucks (if you do not already have one in your junk box)

  • It shure is a frinkin pain in the ass iff pumps dont wanne work the right way !!!

It so frustrating. Did pump a ott off jobsite's here in holland....

  • @josderedneck22 At least I don't have to prime it , that would have been a pain in the ass

  • @ShawnCFarm Yep been there also !! Soking wett @ 7.00h in the morning whit cold wheater....

  • You need a bigger well for the pump

  • @photosbychristensen The hole could be bigger, that would keep it from coming on and off so often.

  • everything new these days is garbage.

  • @lincolnmaniac Made only to last a few years

  • pool pump would work to if u rig it up rite till u can get ya a good sump pump

  • @schark30 Thats ture

  • same happened to me...original pump was 20+ years old...2nd lasted 3..garbage quality

  • @fupabox they just want you too keep buying junk

  • If your old pump is a rigid stainless steel guaranteed for life pump they have discontinued that warranty. However if you bring it back to where you bought it they should give you a full refund of your money towards the purchase of a new pump.

  • @quick2react045 Thats what I'm hoping

  • I feel your pain brother, hope it all drys up for ya

  • @bigrod29 The way this winters going its not going to dry up at all. We got alittle snow last night but not very much 3 cm

  • I have a high water table too, I only have a crawl space so I just let it flood!! It mostly only does it in spring or real heavy rains!! Great video Bud!!☺

  • @805ROADKING Thanks my friend, more on the way.

  • probably made in china-----junk

  • @bigpaw64 The new one for sure. Its still going

  • Isn't that why you have kids to bail out the basement, lol

They will be ok, just turn off the power, lol

  • @redneckbryon That was plan B lol
