I'm apache and this is not a ceremony song, plus we don't use a flute in our music. This is not apache. It is more of a white people style of song, where they try to sing our native songs and pretend to be native.

Look at Joe Tohonnie Jr. There are crown dancers dancing at the shiprock fair.Also -- When I attend Sunrise Dances I see a lot of people taking pictures.

i am Mescalero and I know that all the apache bands do theirs different, I have seen some giving it hell when dancing and running and then I have seen some of them make it look like a piece of cake. this is very intense mentally and physically but worth it when you become may age. I plan to pass this on to my grand daughters and hopefully they will do the same. Come to Mescalero in July and you will witness the ceremony first hand.
