I'm not entirely sure what I make of this film. I think that its meant to be a tongue in cheek spoof of spy and creature feature films. If this is the case, then it certainly succeeded, even though it does drag a bit towards the end *SPOILER ALERT* Also, I'm surprised that Mary-belle died at the end - I though that she was going to end up with the spy. However, this is still of the weirdest and funniest (even if it wasn't intended to be so) film I've ever seen.

This movie opens like its a serious spy thriller film, and then the credits come along and look like something straight out of a Carry On Film. What the fuck?!

At least Roger Corman knew how to keep a movie on-budget. He used the same soundtrack from The Beast From the Haunted Cave and The Little Shop of Horrors. When I was a kid, I saw The Little Shop of Horrors. I told my dad, "Someday, they'll do a remake of this awful movie, or, even a musical." My pop looked at me like I had lost my mind. I guess someone forgot to tell Steve Martin and Rick Moranis that I was nuts as a kid. This movie is one of the best of the worst! Thank you, Roger Corman!

I wouldn't say ALL the movies Corman made back then were bad. I rather enjoyed Little SHop of Horrors and The Terror (the latter really depends on the quality of the print though as some are just so bad you can't tell what's going on). They weren't great but not bad exactly at least when you compare them to this. But you're right the retro stuff good or bad was great for entertainment.
