Although I enjoyed the interview, this has virtually nothing to do with Rising, or "MGS5." Did you just throw that on there to lure lathering mgs fans in to waste their time?
the main message from MGS4 was to point out that the series has to end, i don't know why people want it to keep going on; if you had any respect for Hideo and his family you would stop putting forward ridiculous ideas for his "next game" or whatever and just be happy with what he's already given us.
It takes time and a special moment in his life in order to begin thinking of making another game, stop saying that he's a genius when you don't even care what he thinks. He talks about romance all the time, philosophy, war, religion, family and all these other things that helped make MGS, but no one cares about that anymore, all you care about is business and constant updates that have no soul, too many people like MGS that's the problem.
all you care about is whether Hideo makes another game, can't you see that his development career will never be the same again eversince the explosion of modern technology? he has to constantly please fans, hire staff and become less of the role figure in his own productions just to make sure the business survives - games should never be developed like this, they require something more, like the main philosophy and creative ideas from the guy at the top - Hideo.

Hideo Kojima is one of those few asian game designers who understands how to make games for the western audience. We've all seen all those big colorful sugary cute pink games that come out of the asian countries. Asians love them, and we hate them. I don't know how he knows all that he does, but he really gets the mentality of the west.

I am quite positive that Kojima will not disappoint, he is after all a god amongst the gaming community. But on the other hand i do not believe that a game can be Metal Gear Solid without some kind of Snake. Then again changing the name would also be fairly pointless, he didnt name MGS3 Metal Gear Naked.
It may have something to do with story line but it will never be the same without snake but if we can look past the fact that hes gone and except it as the great game we all know it will be.

MGS4 is PS3 Exclusive and can't be made for the xbox360 cuz ur cd's cant hold that much.. we got blue rays.. and there is a part where Otacon says 'we're on the PS3 system' in game.. soo...

@Drakedog777 That's one of the sad parts. MGS4 being a PS3 exclusive utilized every ounce of the Ps3 strength making the game epic when it came to graphics and gameplay. Being multi platform it's gonna suffer. Peacewalker will be a psp game that will do similar to MGS4&Ps3. Plus if Kojima really is thinking of making a sequel to mgs4 that would be pretty sweet, but I would really hope to play as Snake.
Everyone knows he wants to shock us with MGS Rising, and good luck to him because he never seems to fail to satisfy!

They said there won't be too many returning characters, because they wanted to have a new approach and not recycle the same stuff. The only thing I'm somewhat disappointed in is that David Hayter said there's no Snake. :[

alot of ppl dont understand, kojima isnt working on these games. hes the one they pitch ideas to. he helps the teams as a refence person, if they have a question about how to explain, or portray a feeling within an action, or about setting up the options and controls, ect. hes who they go to.
but another thing that alot of ppl dont understand, mgs pw and mgr are both CHAPTERS of mgs5. there isnt a specified mgs5 title.
Remember, kids, if you want humor in a story and don't know how to relay it, just remove the fourth wall. That's the lesson Kojima's taught me the most.
Listen The next game is going to be peace walker, next rising, if people like this "lighting bolt action" stuff they may do another similar game (I hope a Grey Fox game), and finally, and probably the greatest ending for all the saga: MGS5, this Im pretty sure will be set in the period between mid 70s (PW) and 1995 (mg1), thus we will play with Big Boss in the greatest moments of his career, Outer Heaven, FOXHOUND, the war against the other patriots, and!, we may even play with young snake...
No he has not. Putting snake back would ruin the game, and the character of snake itself. He is now a complete character, with his story and his end... it would took all the magick if he would be by any means back in the game and out of time and aging concept. By that he would became a stereotip. The concept of Snake always was his aging and learning by it in that way building himself. The world is going on without Snake too, and I trust Kojima, he sure knows what is he doing.
Well thats what u think, by plaing as raiden even if it wasn't such a good feeling you could finally saw Snake from some other perspective and feel the real feeling of his presence... I think it wasa good thing. If you wan't to play an uber cool guy go play GoW or something like that, MGS is far more complex and story based then just plaing solid snake.

the game won't be as epic as MGS4.. for this generation ofc..
+ I read somewhere that Kojima is thinking of making a true MGS5 the sequel to MGS4, not yet announced.

@Drakedog777 That's one of the sad parts. MGS4 being a PS3 exclusive utilized every ounce of the Ps3 strength making the game epic when it came to graphics and gameplay. Being multi platform it's gonna suffer. Peacewalker will be a psp game that will do similar to MGS4&Ps3. Plus if Kojima really is thinking of making a sequel to mgs4 that would be pretty sweet, but I would really hope to play as Snake.

xbox360 and computer's are just dead weight, with games being Ps3 exclusives we'll see more games similar to MGS4..
thought 2010 is a big year for Sony.. we'll have many exclusives, MGS:PW is on the PSP tho, wont be as epic as MGS4...sadly
lets just hope for a MGS4 sequel.. that's all we can do anyway.

BTW i'm thinking that image everyone is seeing from Rising is not Raiden (brown eyes and an eye patch?). Unless it is set before MGS4, i would like to think that Raiden settles down with his new family!
Perhaps Rising will be playing as Grey Fox around the time of Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2 or Peace Walker?

well it says "raiden" plus raiden really is a BAMF! i mean just cause like a whole chapter of mgs2 he was naked doesnt mean he sucked. oh and grey fox was crushed like a grown man stepping on a toothpaste in the first one. dont know if youve played that or not. but a true fan would think raiden is cool

@masterhans12 The director is taking a different approach, but still trying something new so it doesn't seem like he's trying to rival Kojima. They said there won't be too many returning characters, because they wanted to have a new approach and not recycle the same stuff. The only thing I'm somewhat disappointed in is that David Hayter said there's no Snake. :[
I'm all for it, and I doubt they'll screw it up. I just hope they have a kickass boss fight with Vamp. :P

alot of ppl dont understand, kojima isnt working on these games. hes the one they pitch ideas to. he helps the teams as a refence person, if they have a question about how to explain, or portray a feeling within an action, or about setting up the options and controls, ect. hes who they go to.
but another thing that alot of ppl dont understand, mgs pw and mgr are both CHAPTERS of mgs5. there isnt a specified mgs5 title.

Listen The next game is going to be peace walker, next rising, if people like this "lighting bolt action" stuff they may do another similar game (I hope a Grey Fox game), and finally, and probably the greatest ending for all the saga: MGS5, this Im pretty sure will be set in the period between mid 70s (PW) and 1995 (mg1), thus we will play with Big Boss in the greatest moments of his career, Outer Heaven, FOXHOUND, the war against the other patriots, and!, we may even play with young snake...

No he has not. Putting snake back would ruin the game, and the character of snake itself. He is now a complete character, with his story and his end... it would took all the magick if he would be by any means back in the game and out of time and aging concept. By that he would became a stereotip. The concept of Snake always was his aging and learning by it in that way building himself. The world is going on without Snake too, and I trust Kojima, he sure knows what is he doing.

Well thats what u think, by plaing as raiden even if it wasn't such a good feeling you could finally saw Snake from some other perspective and feel the real feeling of his presence... I think it wasa good thing. If you wan't to play an uber cool guy go play GoW or something like that, MGS is far more complex and story based then just plaing solid snake.
