  • thumbs up if you are listening this song in 2012.... \o/

  • @devilinbluejean all the songs in youtube, as long as it is not deleted by uploader or someone else, will and might be listened to in 2012 and beyond. no BIG surprise in that. unless of course, the doomsday is coming soon.

  • Grace looked amazing ans sang likewise ! Absolutely brilliant , still is !!

  • Good old VH1. I miss it...

  • if i could get some plutionium for the Delorium, i would go back to 1966 and fuck grace slick till my cock fell off

  • Grace is TOO fine!! ugh....

  • I was in san francisco with my wife in 1967 and luckily we met grace slick at a party there. She'd invited us over by way of thanks for our hospitality when she stayed in our dutch house in amsterdam for 2 days in 1966. She was SO beautiful at that party, and it was clear that she WAS a former model before joining the music scene. Hell, even my wife fancied her then and my wife wasn't and still isn't gay!

  • Hotty that girl.

  • I love that woman. She looks very beautiful in this video.

  • muy buen tema y pensar que llegue a acá gracias al Batllefield Vietnam

  • wonderful......

  • Her voice is amazing. So sexy!

  • Grace was known to take a drink when placed under extreme social pressure.

  • The singer in this band is really amazing. She´s hot and she´s got one of the coolest voices in the world. I never realized this before. The power and feeling she puts in this song is mesmerizing...Holy Crap..

I´m sober right now but for some reason I just want to get drunk, and dance naked when I hear this...

  • @grimlund Two words: THE BOMB! Grace Slick killed this song! She was one of the most mesmerizing women in the business and her vocals were on point! She is retired today but she was amazing back then. I was in 7th grade when this was out and I played it to DEATH! My daughter heard this on a show on cable and she was like, who is that singing? That is slammin! So I went to UTube and found this and she plays it everyday now! LOL!

  • wow very well said.

  • smile at 0:11-0:13...love it!

  • i love the way she smiles when she sings to her plug :_ i had wanted to live that time :/

  • Grace was a model before music got her. Stunning when she wanted to be. Plus a voice that will not be denied!!:)))

  • This Ones My Favorite.

  • вот молодцы!!!!

  • She had the potential to rock the world and she did it.

  • this was a time before cops would drag you out of the audience for lighting a joint and because of that I pratically quit going to rock and roll concerts at the Municipal Auditorium.

  • @unclesam328 Hee, Hee... this was during the time that Pot was a felony and Acid was a misdemeanor... Now...? You can't even GET lysergic acid on the open market, you have to make it your self... :-(

  • She's reminds me of Zoey Deschanel.

  • definitely one of the 10 best songs ever recorded. that powerful voice is like a lighting rod of energy.

  • @deanthompson88 Count me in

  • Is anyone else uber in love with Grace Slick or is it just me?

  • @ianb3432 It's not just you... By God is she beautiful and awesome!

  • what a tune...hip or what

  • I love this song and I always loved Grace Slick. I screamed and whooped at a Jefferson Starship show to get her attention once and she looked right at me and smiled. I was young so it made me happy! She has a great voice. She never moved around much on stage back in those days though!

  • So someone forgot his drumset. He doesn't give a shit and chills on the stage during the whole song.

  • Se was gorgeous and probably wouldn't look out of place even now. Beautiful face and eyes. I think girls like her had an air of mystery about them, and they were more "ladylike" than the modern miss. Not so self obsessed either!

  • Is she high, or is she really using that thing you plug into an electrical socket as a mic?

  • @mcerese911 She is clowning around. They had to lip-synch as was common in that time period due to the high cost of electronics that were needed for live performances.

  • @John1948SIxC. Clowning around for sure. But if they could affort a camera to record this video im sure they could affort a mic for her. More likely the org sound from that concert was lost or cut out at some point. Lovely clip, thx

  • @John1948SIxC haha thats so funny

  • @mcerese911 She was quite the comic-it was intentional. I love her.

  • @mcerese911 i think you mean "electrical plug"

  • Ah yes, chico......my favorite band then,...why don't you join a band and beat yourself over the head with it!

  • I think Grace was smiling because she was lip syncing and singing into an electrical plug and not a mic. Too funny.

  • is she singing into an electric outlet?

  • "Who's the lead singer?" someone asked. R U kidding????!!!! :-( Spend more time on Youtube and get educated about real rock and roll. It's not all about Justin Bieber & Beyonce.

I will forgive you just this once....

  • @entwistle4ever Unforgivable!!! totally!!!

The worlds greatest rock n roll lady.... Grace Slick. Intelligent, Cerebral, talented an Iconoclast .

Definitely one of those "You can invite 6 people to a dinner party, who would they be", types. Grace would be first on my list, then and now

Beyonce, Madge and Mariah would be waiting on table and serving the bubbles

  • ☆Star☆Star☆Star☆Star☆Star and thumbs up

    Fantastic

    Cheyenne

  • awesome

  • AAAAAaaaaahahahahahaha ... "You're Killing Me" ... The Sixty's and Seventy's were the best years of my life!!!

  • I still have hope that maybe Grace will change her views and do one more tour with the Airplane. Yes, I know we would all love some time to go back to the 60s. A movement similar to that of that era is building quickly....

  • Did she really create this song?

  • @RumbleHD "Somebody to Love" was written by Darby Slick and originally recorded by 1960s folk rock band The Great Society and later by the Jefferson Airplane. Rolling Stone magazine ranked Jefferson Airplane's version #274 on their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

  • Grace slick was the singer for The Great Society and Husband at the time was Jerry Slick - on drums and Jerry Slicks Brother Darby Slick - guitar, backing vocals who wrote Someone to Love and then Grace Slick quit The Great Society and then was Vocalist for Jeffersons Airplane and Re-recorded Someone to love and changed song name to Somebody to love

  • @RumbleHD yes :)

  • Grace Wing was working as a model in a San Francisco department store when she hooked with the drummer, whose last name was Slick and whom she married.

  • How f'in chill is that dude reclining on stage right?

  • A SERIOUS MAN

  • God I love her

  • awesome, she's singing into a plug.

  • Jim Carrey HAHAHA!

  • Is she singing with a power chord?

  • woooooooow

  • I love the way Jorma strums the guitar, it's sort of like a windmill, only somehow cooler.

  • Either there is bad a/v synchronisation or they added a studio version of song to live video performance... Anyway, I love this song

  • @pawellosquelto She's singing into an electrical cord, and there's no drummer on stage. I'm thinking they had a backing track.

  • Grace Slick, what a singer, and such a cool name too.......what do we have now? Lady GaGa.....

    :[

  • One of the greatest songs of all time!

  • why does this song sound so familiar to me.. i was born in the 90's.. and still this song sounds so familiar.. anyone?

  • Jim Carrey ^^

  • Cable Guy lol

  • i never realized how hot the lead singer is.

  • @SOG2004 That's probably because the focus was on the music rather than the image back in the day. There was a lot less video and we relied much more on the audio.

  • @John1948SIxC And don't forget that most of the people listening to this music was high

  • @yamahabib Except me! LOL! Didn't do drugs then and now work in a Drug Residential Center as a NP/RN and most of the clients did do drugs during that time. Ever see an old dopehead?

  • @yamahabib well, we had to expand our horizons somehow, Viet Nam was the only thing going and the last 40 or so years of the American family seemed a rather dismal plight to a lot of young people. they were high to escape their own personal tragedy, and their countries.

  • @SOG2004

Grace Slick.Cool name for a very cool chick!

  • @SOG2004 I would find her hot if she didn't look like my mom lol

  • @SOG2004 Grace Slick was a former model and she was beautiful and could sing! This song was and is the bomb! I played this so many times growing up! My children love this song and this group. Grace's voice was a KILLER! She could hit notes that didn't exist! I was in grade school when this was out! This brings back so many memories of growing up on Long Island in the late 60's and 70's.

  • Here's a band who broke up 40 years ago, and their music still inspires the young people who aren't blinded soundwise by all the Pop Shit, that is why Jefferson Airplane is a music legend

  • shes s beautiful <3

  • I want to know how dislike this song???

  • Lip synched perfomances like this really destroy an artists credibility. Surprising that such a talented singer would agree to this.

  • @ycanada true, but remember back in the late 1960s most acts lip synched or mimed because of the technological limitations, it could also be because the acoustics of the studio were crappy. But miming isn't a good thing to do if you are a great act like Jefferson Airplane was

  • @ycanada Well actually Grace was very upset that she had to lip sync. In protest, she sung into an electrical plug rather than the microphone to let everyone know that she was lip synching and not proud of it. Look closely in the video, you will see the plug.

  • A SERIOUS MAN

  • toop

  • who;s the lead singer?

  • @8181luigi Grace Slick.

  • @John1948SIxC you got thumbs up for saying grace slick. now maybe i will get thumbs up!

  • @8181luigi For this comment you deserve a slap >:( lol

  • @8181luigi Grace Slick

  • san francisco acid wave

  • great song..............amazing grace!!!

  • I'm in love with her voice.

  • @Breatherable What? they even made peolpe lipsync back then? Even People who actually have TALENT!

  • @kozmicblues14 It was then, and is now all about set up time and tear down time for TV show schedules.

Plus by making artists lipsynch the show always gets a good performance.

  • @Breatherable Yes, and for TV shows it also had much to do with the quality of their electronics. Ed Sullivan's studio could easily handle live performances. Dick Clark's studio could not. It took a pretty big budget to have a lot of "live" performances.

  • 60s....there were nice time for rock music

  • @Breatherable she was one crazy chick! I really wish she managed to slip some LCD in Nixon's tea, it was going to be LEGENDARY!!!

Politically I don't agree with her, but boy was that going to be some fun :D :D :D

  • @DaniOcean

You're not imagining things, i see it too.

  • La época dorada cuando las rolas marcaban rumbo y destino. Nada de ‘‘generación perdida’’... espíritu libre, en todo caso. Gracias por compartir.

  • I love her smile 1:22

  • @Zoopaka It is actually disarming....stunning.Whatever your mind is set on as soon as u see such a smile you forget..

  • i would give anything to have 24 hours in the 1960s. ANYTHING

  • @SweetMeloncholy me too! i'm such a hippie at heart!

  • @SweetMeloncholy I would give anything to have 24 hours in the 1960s...with Grace Slick.

  • @SweetMeloncholy just make sure you don't get "drafted" in those 24 hours you want to spend in the 60s

  • @SweetMeloncholy ....you would have loved it!!! I'm grateful for all the memories...I was a teenager then...

  • @SweetMeloncholy LOL I lived the whole decade. Remember some of it too. Like seeing the Jefferson Airplane live. A lot of great concerts. Fun times.

  • @SweetMeloncholy your head? xD

  • El amor no debemos buscarlo fuera, sino en nuestro interior..solo me encanta la musica

  • @patryciagarrido Gracias por el comentario pensativo. También amo la música.

  • she looks like zooey deschanel

  • @bombwow reverse that.

  • @bombwow I was just thinking the same zooey looks like Grace especially in Yes Man

  • Great song, full of vigor and vitality, and a very unique voice. Who sang it? Was it Signe Anderson or Grace Slick. I got confused as they appear to have similar voice and singing style. Thanks!

  • @oilcraze

Grace. She brought the song from her previous -very good by the way- band "The Great Society". Darby Slick, her brother-in-law, wrote it.

  • noisy :D

  • fumatela!!!

  • thanks for the song and all information:))

  • ♥-----

  • Great!!!!!!!!

  • No comments? Damn. You have an excellent article in the description and everything. Great song, great band. Thanks for putting this up, and good luck to you with getting more hits.
