In terms of quality of the leather, yeah, some would definitely be equal. But my problem with new AF1s is the shape and colorways, that why I'm so turned off by them.

Beautiful collection.  The 1990s seemed to be Nike's hottest decade in terms of variety and quality. I bought the retro Jordan XI in black/yellow from Finishline last year. Within five months, the technology broke down, the air heels broke and they squeaked with every step. Also bought the AF1 Diamond Court. I have had to install insoles under the smashed originals and release the air using a knife to make them wearable after the first year. Today they look like shite

how do you keep your older model shoes from yellowing or cracking? because all im doing is puting them in the closet and cleaning them with leather cleaner im also putting them in ziploc big ones and putting quarter size holes in the bag so the shoe can have air.

To be honest, I just keep them in the boxes and thats it. None are yellowed yet. It might be a matter of time, but I think the air force 1s and dunks should be fine if kept out of sunlight n all.
